"Love at Second Sight" is a short web drama that had potential but the main leads don’t have good chemistry and for a male lead that is a great catch, the plot really messed with him too many times. The female lead is wrong over and over again and the male lead deserves better. The female lead is not even completely honest with her best friend about the real reason to why she broke up with him and her friend is always barraging him with false accusations that the female lead doesn’t care to correct and portrays herself as the victim. Wang Zu Yi (as Gu Yi Bei, the male lead) is great bringing his character to life and shows a good range of emotions but Shao Yu Qi (as Su Nan, the female lead, lacks proper use of facial expressions and body language. Overall, the drama was not convincing in bringing the leading couple’s relationship to a satisfactory end since the end seems more like a dream. Was this review helpful to you?

Fated to Love You is a miniseries set during a historical period. This drama had some strong points regarding the main male lead and his dealings with the antagonists which he resolved even with the help of the main female lead but the drama is supposed to be about the leading couple and their fated romantic union. Although the leading couple had a very good camaraderie, steadfast feelings for each other, and a cute playful relationship, their romantic intimate scenes lack excitement. Even though the ending is a happy one, it is uneventful and boring. This drama is okay to watch while waiting for a great one to come! Was this review helpful to you?

Bride's Revenge is a well written and produced miniseries. This drama is about simply revenge and not really about the romance between the leading couple. Although there is certainly a nice, smart, and tender relationship between Ye Qing Lan (played by Qu Meng Ru) and Mu An Cheng (played by Vincent Wei), they don’t get together until the very end of the story, but the audience gets to see them working together to bring the villains to justice. The female lead starts as a nice and lovely girl that is force to become calculative and cold hearted by the antagonists in the story proving that, even though revenge is never sweet, it will sure give the victim a sense of satisfaction knowing that justice was served. The cast did a very good job bringing their characters to life and the drama was entertaining. Enjoy it!Was this review helpful to you?

Hello, I’m At Your Service is a light romantic comedy within customer service work place setting. The drama is full of likable characters and the leading couple, for the most part, has very good chemistry. Although there is a business plot in the drama and it is presented with business related difficulties and antagonists trying to get the business down, the main plot is the leading’s couple relationship. Dong Dong En and Lou Yuan is a very compatible couple in matters of intelligence and wits, but sometimes, the rich guy-poor girl cliché mentality gets in the way of the relationship flow. It doesn’t take long to be resolved but it gets a little bit tiring to think of throwing a working relationship away because of insecurities. Even though at some point it is repetitive, their love for each other is stronger than the supposed impossibilities and they keep working to make their romantic relationship work. Overall, the drama is nice and entertaining for the most part. Enjoy it! Was this review helpful to you?

This is a good drama to watch and enjoy as long as you are not looking for a great romantic story. The drama is about Zhouhua and her journey to become a female official on the imperial court and her path to self discovery. The cast did a fantastic job bringing their characters to life and there’s good solid character growth that makes the drama flow nicely toward its conclusion. The drama is a mix of action, palace antics, strategic schemes, and a slow burned romance with great intellectual exchanges between the main leads but no electrifying romantic chemistry. It is nice to see how the female lead realizes that loving and marrying is more about finding the right person that complements and respects her than looking for someone to depend on. The male lead character was ahead of his time and was a great intellectual match to the female lead. In my opinion, a drama that is going to conclude with the successful achievements of both career and personal life of Zhouhua could’ve had a better intimacy with the male lead. Not sure if the lack of chemistry is a choice of the director to create stoic characters rather than more realistic characters on their way to fall in love. Feng Shao Feng is a good actor that can give good romantic vibes but lacks on intimate connections, not sure if it is a personal choice for conservative cultural followers or just his lack of willingness to carry out amorous scenes. Overall, the drama was great in all other aspects except for the leading couple’s romantic representation. Was this review helpful to you?

The Princess and the Werewolf is not a Beauty and The Beast remake; it is a fantasy similar in topic but it really tells its own story. The drama is a comedy, it has satire flair. There are some really funny and some warm moments but it seems grotesquely exaggerated for the most part. The drama is set in a historical era shadowed with a knack for the use contemporary effects such as: English language usage, the statue of Michelangelo’s David (1501-1504)-(covered by a cape, of course) that the Princess’ mother sent her from Europe, mention of abstractionist art, costumes with a modern flair, cocktail shakers and bartending tricks, a tango dance (a dance that originated in Buenos Aires in the late 19th century), and the character Chun’er which is the equivalent of a social media application, which indicates that this drama is not meant to be taking seriously for its content. For those that are expecting a great romantic story between the lead couple, it will lead to a great disappointment. The leading lady is supposed to be independent, smart, and “mischievous and lively” but, for most of the drama, her character is insufferable and she spends most of the drama been conjectural and manipulative. The leading man also comes up as only a deceitful person in her eyes even though he is constantly risking his life to save her. Also, for been a comedy, there is a REALLY unnecessary occurrence close to the end of the drama that leaves an overall sour feel by the end. The happy ending is rushed and uneventful. This drama is great if the viewer is only looking for great CGIs; well choreograph action scenes, and beautiful settings. As for the rest, the plot is more about the demons getting their way until almost the last 10 minutes of the drama. There is a hero in the making (the male lead) that, even with all the achievements, doesn’t get rid of the antagonists until the last final minutes of the last episode while the righteous guys kept dying throughout the drama. There are some attempts at comedy that were not really funny, and the drama was more about fighting, use of great computer generated images, and twists and turns that only serve to drag the drama into a boring mess. There is a romance storyline but no chemistry between the leading couple. Overall, the drama failed to deliver a great story. Was this review helpful to you?

Poong, the Joseon Psychiatrist Season 2 is a nice sequel to Poong, the Joseon Psychiatrist that deals more with Poong’s ability to bring healing by treating patient’s emotional wounds, his journey dealing with scheming characters until he’s able to clear his name, and his beautiful rendition of a man that remains steadfast to his friends and his love one. Kim Min Jae's acting is again flawless and makes up for the lack of romantic chemistry from Kim Hyang Gi as Seo Eun Woo. Although she was always there to help him and truly cared for him, and despite the fact that they had some nice tender interactions and one heartwarming kiss, for most of their romantic scenes, she was not showing much emotions but her surprised or cold demeanor for a character that truly shined when she was smiling. The rest of the cast was as fantastic as Season 1 as a united front and delivering very good comedic scenes. The antagonists on this season were a bit too farcical and somewhat disrupted the flow of the plot making it a bit choppy but still not bad enough to damage the drama. The second season has its luster but it needed one or two more episodes to show more about the other great characters in the clinic; also, although the drama ended happily with the leading couple getting married, there are no romantic vibes but plain and simple comedy and, (SPOILER ALERT), one super unnecessary character’s death at the end. This is a very distressful drama that, as the synopsis says it is: “A sad and painstaking love story between a teacher and student as it follows the heroine and her plot for revenge.” The drama is a tumultuous rollercoaster that pervades up until the very end. Although the leading couple has a good bantering and fun chemistry, they don’t have a good romantic chemistry. The leading lady, from beginning to end, is impulsive and lacks trust in her relationship with the leading male causing too many tragic turns of events. The choice of a very young looking leading female works well for the beginning when she was very young, but, as the character grows older, the actress’ demeanor doesn’t show physical or emotional maturity since she keeps looking and behaving like a 12 year old. If the viewer likes dramas where the leading couple is mismatched, where there is a prolonged separation for the main couple, and a senseless ending, then this is the drama for you. [The movie is a sequel to the drama and, although it has a fairytale ending you will get to see the leading male recovered, it has a comical atmosphere and lacks a loving mood.] Was this review helpful to you?
