This drama could’ve been a well done drama if it was not from the fact that the female lead Ming Yue (played by Bai Yan) spent too much time been drugged, kidnapped, and carried by the male lead and others; and the male lead Li Chuan Yuan (played by Lu Shan Dong) was always there in the nick of time to save the day! There is a nice chemistry between the leading couple and the drama has a nice happy ending. The drama is a miniseries so the plot seemed choppy and there were too many characters trying hurt the Ming Yue. There is also a good amount of frenzied characters and over the top crazy female characters. Overall, although this review is seemingly negative, the drama is not too bad but, one cannot help to feel dumbfounded at the amount of kidnappings, slaps, and being carried up for the female lead. My Lover is a drama that started with a good premise of a fake niece and uncle that ended up falling in love with each other but the entire drama is more about people bribing them and a revenge plot that lacked planning and execution. The leading couple had a nice playful chemistry but there are no real intimate interactions that could even get close to the given title of My Lover which should be changed to its native title 我的大叔 (My Uncle). The acting is subpar for most of the cast and there is no romantic chemistry between the leading couple. Was this review helpful to you?

Even though Moonlight (2023) is a very good miniseries, the subtitles and OST copyrights take away from the flow of a nice story. The leading man, Fei Ming Xuan (played by Chen Xin Hai) is about to marry Fang Min (played by Kay Song) believing that she was the girl that saved his life and kept him company through his darkest time, a case of mistaken identity which he realizes when he meets Su Xiao Xiao (played by Ke Ying). The two friends, actress Fang Min and her stuntwoman Su Xiao Xiao join hands to bring down Fei Ming Xuan to stop his arranged marriage to Fang Min who is in love with someone else. As Su Xiao Xiao gets involved with Min Xuan, she starts to realize who he really is and, after her boyfriend Tang Song, who was using her to also bring Min Xuan down, betrays her, she starts to get closer to Min Xuan and, eventually, they fall in love. This drama was good but, with a bit more time, it would have been better. The cast did a nice job bringing their characters to life and the leading couple has very good chemistry that got better once they got together. This drama is nice and entertaining. If the audience is used to short dramas, it will find that, although A Love Journal is a SUPER fast miniseries, it is really entertaining. It is even surprising that, in such a short time, the drama resolves the business aspects in a satisfactorily way and the lead couple has very good romantic chemistry. The leading lady works for a rival company and keeps that fact from her husband which gives way to the appearance of an antagonist from her company. The leads have met before in their high school days and seemed to have developed a nice friendship on that time. Even though the second leading couple doesn’t have the best romantic development, it is cute to see them together as the drama nears its ending. The drama starts as a marriage of convenience but, during the cohabitation, they gradually fell in love with each other. It also has a very nice ending, enjoy it! Was this review helpful to you?

This is a nice sequel but the plot splits into two storylines with one having Ning Que protecting Sang Sang after her identity is discovered until she ascends into Heaven where her character becomes almost non- existent and out of main characterization, to the other storyline with Ning Que becoming the Tang Empire’s protector while he and the Academy characters take center stage battling enemies of Tang. The last episodes are wasted by Sang Sang trying to humanize the cold and vicious Goddess of Light with whom she shares spiritual energy until, at the very end, the story gives the impression that Sang Sang is going to win the spiritual battle and comes back to Ning Que. Although Dylan Wang does a good job as an older and “more mature” Ning Que, the chemistry between Ning Que and Sang Sang from the first season is amiss. The first part of this season was going well until the main characters get separated. Now, to wait for the third season and hope that Sang Sang and Ning Que will recover the strength and chemistry that their characters had on the first season. Let’s hope! This is a philosophical drama that explores “the rational investigation of the truths and principles of being, knowledge, or conduct” of the main and supporting characters. Through the fantasy element of the creation of a voice activated AI apparatus, the leading man, Moon Ha Won, is comforted as he creates an application that will help patients that have gone through traumatic events as he himself has. This drama evolves in super slow motion due to the unresolved feelings of important characters which, in one way or another, get their lives entangled through their interaction with Kim Ji Soo, an ephemeral character that leaves a complex and almost disturbing experience on everyone related to her. Then, there is also the lead female character, Han Seo Woo, which on the drama’s synopsis, is described as a person with “an open and optimistic mindset, believing that all things happen for a reason”. Most of the time, Seo Woo was ridiculously unreasonable, intrusive, impulsive, and insecure. Also, she develops a bizarre connection with Kim Ji Soo just after a few brief and almost nonsensical exchanges. Although the lead couple has good chemistry, their beautiful connection and developing love is wasted by Seo Woo’s antsy feelings toward Ha Won and her constant running away from him. Overall, the producers, writers, and editors missed to bring out a meaningful drama out of a potentially great story. Was this review helpful to you?

Zong Cai Fu Ren Wo Dang Ni Le (2024) is a great romantic comedy miniseries. The story is about the leading lady, Wen Yan (played by Han Yu Tong), who dies after an accident with a broken heart after her husband refuses to see her but, immediately, she finds herself alive and well being reborn a year before her death; thus ensued her determination to move on with her life without Shi Mu Bai (played by Sun Yue), the man that she has liked since childhood. Although the drama starts with a heartbreaking moment, the plot sticks to the comedy genre. The female lead transforms into s delightful force to be reckon with. The male lead, who, after her rebirth and insistence in getting the divorce, finds out that he really wants to stay with her, turns into a lovesick puppy and pursues her incessantly while protecting her when she’s in treble as she deals with her own troubles with her family. There is a non conforming antagonist that is always annoying the female lead and loves to slap but, it so just happened that the slapper keeps getting slapped by the female lead in a ridiculously funny way. The cast did a great job bringing their characters to life and, although there many misses of intimacy for the leading couple, their interactions are somewhat sensual, heartwarming, and funny. Sun Yue is great on the role of the pursuer that really loses his “dignity” in order to get back with her and Han Yu Tong is fantastic on both the naïve woman in love and clever force of nature roles. Overall, this miniseries is well done and entertaining, enjoy it! Was this review helpful to you?
