I guess this is not the typical plot that Dongba wonder, “she feels so familiar and her eyes look familiar, maybe I cover half of her face with my palm and just show the eyes…tadah…it’s her! I should have know.!” 😅

I assumed you haven’t watch TBOY. There will be more then one death but hopefully this story will end on a good note.

Ah ‘Once Promised’, didn’t read that and didn’t watch the drama, I think somehow the FL and ML didn’t catch my attention back then.
Anyway, enjoy reading, this novel broke my heart when I first read it, just don’t read it before bedtime.;)

Yeah in the novel, CX didn’t really get a redemption arc as seen here. Initially I was concern how it will play out in the drama, but after watching this re-scripted drama, I am cool. If you really into this whole story, can try the novel. But personally I don’t recommend especially after this drama. Although I like the novel, should be kept separate from the drama. TH must have rethink her characters and revised to this version.

I see your point and totally love how this drama had focus on the characters’ dynamic and less on the plot. Although I would wish some novel’s plots are included, but reflecting back as you put it, it make sense for the choices made. I am actually glad for CX that it’s just regrets.

In S2, in danger he called out, but they never openly acknowledge and it was heard hence Su Wu Ming has to help him get sent away or he will threatened the new King. Watch on it will be clearer.
