Aahhh thank you so much for the link, I'll love watching the donghua, especially because of the information you gave, that they don't forget each other!!! (I was so sad in the drama that Bei Lu forgot about her)

And I'm glad that someone else saw their relationship as it was in The Untamed ❤

After I finish watching the donghua, I'll come back here to tell you what I thought about the differences between the donghua and the drama, and which one I liked more!!

Which is actually my question for you: which one did you like more?

I have to admit I didn’t really enjoy the first episodes since I kept comparing it to the donghua. But it got…
Hello, I was so happy watching this drama!

Unfortunately, I saw many people angry about the story, either because they were angry that the characters were perhaps more than friends (and these people were prejudiced), while other people were angry because the gay romance wasn't shown. That said, and knowing that you read the donghua, please tell me, in the donghua or the book, can you feel that they like each other more than friendship?

I personally felt that while watching the drama, and it made me very emotional. For me, they have feelings far beyond friendship; they love each other, even more so because they used the expression "soulmates," the same expression used in The Untamed.

And I found it so beautiful that Bi Zhi actually met Su Bei Lu around the same time he met Qin Zi Yi. And a large part of the affection Bi Zhi felt for Zi Yi was thanks to the time he spent with Bei Lu (Bei Lu pretending to be Zi Yi).

I cried so much during episode 25, it was the best episode!

Another question I have is whether the donghua shows if Bi Zhi remembered Su Bei Lu? I mean, in the final scene of the drama, when they meet again after 1 year. Or are they both without memory? (I deduced that Bi Zhi remembered, but there was no confirmation in the drama).

(I apologize for my poor English, I am Brazilian and it was Google Translate that translated what I wrote)

Let's be honest the only reason why some people hated this movie is because they want cheesy romance between Shin…
I really wanted to see fighting, blood, and shooting! So the movie was great for me! The only thing that bothered me about the "lack of romance" is that he fell in love in 3 days with almost zero interaction with her, which shocked me that he destroyed his own life because of her.

Title Sound of the Desert Spoiler
True love (Mo Xun / 9th Lord), who sacrifices everything for the one he loves (Xin Yue). Bitter regrets are the worst thing in life.

I absolutely love Tong Hua's sad romances, and I adored how *The Sound of the Desert* broke my heart. I started watching the drama because of Hu Ge (Mo Xun / 9th Lord) and Liu Shi Shi (Xin Yue), and for me, they are the true protagonists of this story. And I am a person with a disability, so I was very moved to see Mo Xun / 9th Lord in a wheelchair!!

(This review contains many spoilers)

At the beginning of the story, I was so happy that Xin Yue was in love with the 9th Lord!! And I found it so beautiful how she confesses her feelings to him, how she loves him so sincerely, without caring about his disability!!

But in the middle of the story I started to get really sad, because I realized that in the end, she was going to end up with Wei Wu Ji... Because of the 9th Lord himself, who was a fool for rejecting her love, even though he loved her so much. He rejected her because he thought Xin Yue would be happier away from him (who has a disability, who was of a different ethnicity, who had complicated and dangerous political relationships between the Chinese Emperor and the nomadic desert peoples). And yes, at that point in the drama I even got angry at the 9th Lord for not valuing Xin Yue's sincere love.

And unfortunately, the 9th Lord realized this too late, that Xin Yue really didn't care about any of those problems. Xin Yue only wanted to marry the 9th Lord and live by his side! That would already be happiness for her! But after she made a beautiful romantic declaration to him twice, and was rejected both times, she decides to run away because she is heartbroken.

And this is where the worst happens. Wei Wu Ji, who was in love with Xin Yue, decides to take advantage of the situation, kidnapping Xin Yue and forcibly taking her to the military camp. (Here he also hides the truth from her, saying that no one else is looking for her. And he lies to the 9th Lord, saying he doesn't know where Xin Yue is).

The big problem is that Wu Ji has always been an intrusive person, constantly showing up at Xin Yue's house uninvited and bothering her when she clearly didn't want him there. It was unbearable to watch. And when this opportunity to kidnap her arises, he doesn't think twice.

And almost a year later, when Xin Yue finally discovers that Wu Ji lied to her, hiding the fact that the 9th Lord was looking for her when she ran away, Xin Yue is very hurt by Wu Ji's lie, especially because Wu Ji also lied to the 9th Lord, pretending not to know where Xin Yue is. And when Xin Yue confronts Wu Ji, he becomes stubborn and acts like a jerk, refusing to accept what Xin Yue is saying, belittling her feelings, and claiming he did nothing wrong in lying.

Disgusting! He manipulated the entire situation so that Xin Yue would think that only he, Wu Ji, was there for her. He manipulated the situation so that Xin Yue would be in the dark, without knowing the truth, without can to think, feel, and decide things for herself. I know that word is trendy and losing its weight, but honestly, he seemed like a narcissist.

And it's very sad, because for 3 years Xin Yue loved only and exclusively the 9th Lord. And she suffered greatly from his two rejections. And then, when she is kidnapped by Wu Ji, and begins to like Wu Ji, she still suffers for many years because she still loves the 9th Lord, but she has started to like Wu Ji, she is torn, and unfortunately feels she can't go back, because she had sexual relations with Wu Ji (by the way, when she was super drunk, and she only realizes what happened the next morning, and tries to downplay the event by saying that Wu Ji didn't force her - yes, he didn't use force, but he used a vulnerable moment, and a lack of capacity for consent, to take advantage of her).

The scene that made me cry the most was when the 9th Lord finally decides to tell Xin Yue the main reason for rejecting her. It's that he has a hereditary disease, highly fatal in babies. He was the only one among his siblings who survived. And likewise, his mother was the only survivor among several siblings. So he didn't want to make Xin Yue go through the pain of seeing the death of several children. Xin Yue cries a lot upon discovering this; it's a very emotional scene. She says that if he had told the truth from the beginning, she wouldn't have cared about avoiding having children, she wouldn't have cared about his illness, and she would have married him anyway!

The lives of the 9th Lord and Xin Yue were completely devastated. And it becomes very clear that she continues to love the 9th Lord, forever. She just can't go back. And then she does begin to have sincere feelings for Wu Ji, unfortunately, because Wu Ji is a controlling, impulsive, jealous, and violent man.

When Xin Yue bit the 9th Lord's face, it was to save him and prevent him from falling into the icy water. Yes, she was willing to sacrifice herself for him and die in his place because, yes, she still loved him, but the bite was simply to save him (stunning him, creating an opportunity for Xin Yue to push him away from the icy water). But then, when Wu Ji is taking Xin Yue away, after seeing the scar on the 9th Lord's face, Wu Ji, full of brutality and ignorance, bites Xin Yue's neck out of sheer jealousy, hurting her, drawing blood from her neck, and he forces a kiss on her, with her blood mixed into their saliva. It's absurd that he did that! He didn't even give her a chance to explain herself and immediately resorted to aggression. I truly detest him.

Furthermore, Wu Ji is ungrateful. When Wu Ji fell into a coma, the 9th Lord cared for him, doing everything possible to save Wu Ji's life, even putting his own life in danger just to save him. Days later, it was the 9th Lord who fell into a coma as a consequence of helping Wu Ji. Then Xin Yue went to take care of the 9th Lord. But when she sent a message to Wu Ji telling him what happened, saying that as soon as the 9th Lord came out of the coma, she would return home, Wu Ji didn't even want to know, he became furious and violent, and broke the tea set, throwing everything on the floor. A ridiculous and ungrateful attitude, since he is only alive because the 9th Lord saved him! It's all absurd. He threw a huge tantrum, besides breaking the tea set, he locked himself in his room, didn't eat, and then ran away from home. All because Xin Yue was taking care of the person who risked his own life to save Wu Ji. But Wu Ji is truly an ungrateful ignoramus.

I found it very sad that the 9th Lord had to sacrifice everything for Xin Yue's sake, while Wu Ji was a jerk. I really don't understand why people who watch this drama feel so infatuated with Wu Ji. It's probably because they like controlling and narcissistic men. And also because the 9th Lord has a disability, and the vast majority of people wouldn't choose him as a romantic partner precisely because of his disability, which is very sad.

The 9th Lord was always selfless, sincere, and true. Even though he suffered, and even though he asked Xin Yue to give up Wu Ji to be with him, he never forced Xin Yue; he simply accepted that there was no going back. And he continued to love Xin Yue and do everything for her happiness! The 9th Lord takes care of Wu Ji, sacrificing his own health, helping Xin Yue with everything she needs, no matter how dangerous it is. That's true love. Unlike Wu Ji's selfish love, who would never do anything to help the 9th Lord, nor can he feel gratitude for everything the 9th Lord did for him and Xin Yue.

For me, the moral of the story is: Don't let opportunities slip away. Because usually when you miss an opportunity, it never comes back. And let people have can to decide, speak the truth, show your feelings, don't try to choose what's best for the other person. Bitter regrets are the worst thing in life.

Mo Xun / 9th Lord will live forever in my heart! Just like Mei Chang Su (Hu Ge's character in the drama Nirvana In Fire). Hu Ge has a gift for creating unforgettable characters!!!!

Hello, I'm new to Filipino dramas. Are they usually released with parts missing and then later released complete? I noticed that Stella had flashbacks kissing Vincent, but it wasn't shown on screen. Could that be the reason? (Sorry for my poor English, I'm Brazilian.)

Yes, I was quite disappointed by the nudity and rape scenes. My boyfriend saw this movie over 10 years ago (at the time he was watching all the classic Korean revenge movies) and warned me that I wouldn't like it. But today I insisted and watched, because I thought my boyfriend was exaggerating, and also because I'm currently very obsessed with the actor Lee Byung Hun, wanting to watch all his movies, and also because I actually like violent revenge movies. But I was very disappointed indeed... it's basically violence against women, rape, and unnecessary nudity...

Hello, at one point in the drama it's mentioned that Ae Sin is past the age of marriage, and later it's mentioned that she's 28 or 29 years old. Meanwhile, Eugene was 39. That means there's approximately a 10-year age difference! (Sorry for my English, I'm Brazilian.)
