Timmy should really stick to modern dramas as he looks hot in those. Something is seriously off about his acting, body language and mannerism. You can tell he is uncomfortable and out of place as a scholar. He looks like he tries hard...really hard. The exagerrated eye stares, the stiff body posture, weird smiles and even weirder neck movements...are we sure this is his body??? I know C drama do crazy stuff like creating CGI bodies by attaching a head to a cgi body. Alan Yu has some serious competition here! The actress is equally bad so it's at least balanced.

So rating of 9 but no one knows where to watch this drama??

Someone already replied to you above. As in all romcoms there are break up scenes and misunderstandings but they end up together. Happy ending

Why is this drama rated so highly? I find it shocking. Chinese cannot produce a serious modern drama or thriller - it is beyond embarassing the way they portrayed criminal specialists and how lowly do they think of us audience. I figured from the first episodes who was the poison killer and the couple's past history - it is THAT obvious. The drama moving forward was basically the FL acting and sounding like a 10 year old trying to act grown up (her analyses were so poor that it made me laugh) and trying to dodge the FL's horny desires.

Absolutely! ZYL really shone in Princess Agents - that was a career defining moment. It was not a perfect drama but compared to what is produced these days, it was nearly perfect. The first time I felt a C Drama did justice to a woman with an incredibly well written and powerful female character. She acted amazingly well - this was the first time I was wow'ed by a Chinese actress in a drama. WYB is also doing great and I don't feel the age difference at all. A real shame :(

I am really disappointed as I like both leads and had high expectations. It started off well but then became incredibly boring, draggy and just nonsensical...wth was the purpose of these prison scenes. It just didn't make any sense and seemed like time fillers. The writing is poor, they are not utilizing the leads to their full potential.

The plot is great and I REALLY like the ML. I thought I would hate him but I can't stand vanilla, too good to be true ML. I like the fact that he is neither good nor totally bad (that's why I loved Shawn Dou's character in Princess Agents). People who question why he beat her...he did explain why (he knew she could heal and he hurt himself too...the only way to save her).Now the FL is another story...a general who was supposed to be brave turned into a completly useless character who constantly needs to be saved, has no foresight or emotional intelligence (seriously, how was she a general when she can't even keep up with the ML's sharp mind and plan...she is always too late and put everyone in danger with her stupid murder attemps). They really made her pretty and dumb. The ML is the saving grave of this drama.

Tiffany Tang just never gets it right. She is one of the most overrated A list actresses.

I've reported her/him as she/he is spoiling all over the page. Some people are weird, it's like they find joy in spoiling a show.

Agree! Ye Hua made carried the drama. Ashes of Love has a truly unforgetable OTP

I know he has A LOT of fans, but ZL simply cannot act. He lucked out with Eternal Love because the drama was prettu much carried by the FL and the script well written.

Where is amnesia when you need it. I wouldn't mind some temporary amnesia, a very evil and hot rival and some dramatic arguments.

Timing of this drama couldn't be better. I've suffered insomnia for the past few days. Alan's acting beats any ASMR Youtuber out there. 100% will put me to sleep. I will take the bullet for y'all - will watch it and report back.
