I enjoyed the series (even though the last episodes felt pretty draggy), the actors were TOTALLY amazing and the OST too!

I specially liked episode 20, it was kind of an epilogue and I’m glad to see many of my favorite characters doing well, still I really need to vent my anger at Seo Jin’s “happy ending”.

ATTENTION:

Swear words and spoilers may be ahead.

Are you f*king kidding me?? After all the bad and awful things she did she still gets a good ending?? Not going to jail, not actually paying for what she did! She only told the truth because Ye So’s mental health was being ruined by thinking about what they did to WJ! Until the very end, HJ feared for her daughter mental well-being first and foremost which is why she ended up “letting go” of her greed, she never really cared about others.

(That scene at the beginning of Ep. 20? Coordinator Kim was absolutely right in every single thing she told her!).

Did she ever thought about the other people she made suffer?? Ye Bin? Hye Na? Woo Yoo and his family? Her husband? Why does she gets to get away with a simple apology and some tears? She was a straight up b*tch for 18 episodes!!! Why does everyone just forgives her?? She was nasty, I don’t care what anyone says.

If there is something I don’t understand about kdrama writers is why do they always redeem and make kids forgive their freaking parents!!! The f*ck!!

And even though coach Kim was a total psycho she was right saying that’s all the parents’ fault! They are the ones pressuring their children and wanting them to enter SNU as if they were mere trophies to show off.

End of rant.

So we’ve finally come to the end, what a journey!

——First, a little rant and head-ups for those considering watching this: please don’t listen to the haters. So many people are giving the series 1 or 2 stars and I can assure you SU deserves a lot more. Just because a ship didn’t ‘sail’ doesn’t mean the story itself is bad. From the very beginning the endgame couple was obvious, and the chemistry between the characters and the actors is off the charts, so yeah. Give it a try, I’m sure you’ll find many enjoyable things about Start Up!——

Personally, I’m really happy with how the story went. Some moments were a little dragging but overall I had a great time watching it and I really like the characters and their interactions. A feel-good kind of story.

Kudos to NJH and Suzy’s acting! Both of them have improved SO much in these last few years, I’m proud to see how far they’ve come.

The OST was incredible, some of the best I’ve listen to lately.

The cinematography is beautiful too, it looks like a big budget movie. I loved it!

It was definitely worth it, I’m happy I stuck until the end!

Okay, I feel robbed but I still cannot hate this series. Don’t know how or why but it became one of my favorite ones (despite the dubious moral and actions of some of the characters).

I think it had the potencial to be so much more (I’ve read they changed writers around episode 10 and that’s when things started to go south) but I still enjoyed it.

I got really invested in the plot and the characters, the actors made a great work portraying them and working with the messy script they were dealt.

I specially loved Soo Hyuk’s character, he’s the one (or should I say the only one?) that shows some growth and that faced the wrong things he did and tried to fix them. Plus LSH is one of my favorite actors so I was really happy to see him acting again (and it makes me sad the series ratings weren’t good).

I liked Jong Beom too, even though he had some serious issues I felt he tried to change and learn about others (not just about Sa Bin), you can see this with his hyung and SB’s uncles and even with SH.

I still think he needs therapy and try to lead a calm life so he can heal from so many bad things that happened to him (not just to “fall in love” and be “cured” out of nowhere).

In my opinion, Sa Bin’s character was the one that suffered the most from the bad writing. I loved her at the beginning but then her “naïveté” and refusal to face reality were just too much.

The OST was amazing (specially “Fate”).

All in all, I liked the series. The ending wasn’t what I wanted (and that epilogue is pretty vague) but I can’t say I regret watching this.

Now a little rant about the ending to finish, they are spoilers so you’ve been warned.

-SPOILERS AHEAD-

I feel robbed because I thought SH was the lead (the whole series felt like that) but at the end he wasn’t and he ended up alone even after the drama spent all that time showing us how much he and SB/HE loved each other and how they were meant to be.

So what was all that about being together even in the next life and loving each other until the end??? That’s the only thing I can’t forgive the writer for and what ruined the ending for me.

In my head SH and SB ended up happily married and JB went to therapy, found something worth living for (something other than his obsession/love for SB) and now he’s happy too.

Ahhh!!! This is my favorite drama ever! I love everything: the story, the characters, the cinematography, the music.

Is about the struggles of growing up, about friendship and first loves.

All the characters felt real and I could identify with them, specially with Bok Joo, being torn apart between people’s expectations and your own wishes is something I definitely felt back in high school and my first years at college.

And Joon Hyung is everything I want: a best friend and a lover.

The swag gang friendship was amazing too! I love them!

Definitely my favorite kdrama ever!

I watched this because of the manga and even though the acting may be a little cringy at times and the hairstyles/fashion look a bit tacky (like every drama back in the early 2010’s I think lmao) I really enjoyed it!

I think I’m in love with Haruma, he’s so cute in this movie! The perfect Kazehaya! (I love his puppy-in-love-eyes every time he sees Sawako).

I also loved Mikako, she has that sweet/innocent aura and I’m really happy about how she portrayed Sawako here (I love the character as a daughter so...).

Kimi ni Todoke is a slow-paced story but I don’t hate that. Is about the struggles of growing up, about friendship and first loves. A coming-of-age film.
