Here's my take on it. I enjoyed the 1st 12 episodes and then ep.13-19 was a blur because it wasn't going anywhere…
Thanks for your response in breaking down your take on the episodes! :) As for the show, 5 episodes in and I've yet to really see the layered aspects of the Crown Prince, though I don't doubt that they're there! I'm all for political palace dramas/revenge, but as you put it it's been pretty "mellow" thus far.
I felt the same way initially, but yes it does, it takes a little while to develop, but you will see growth in…
Oh I’m down for some angst —I mean this IS a historical drama after all!! Any idea as for when this drama started picking up for you?? Because I literally half watched this last Ep.
That depends on your definition of exciting, for me it's dull, nothing exciting at all.
Fair enough. I haven’t exactly “fallen” into the story just yet either. I like the flirty FL, but it feels like the plot is just trudging along. *shrugs*
So I’ve watched the first 5 eps and it’s just okay. Does the show get more exciting for those of y’all still watching? I was really looking forward to this show coming out, and I guess I’m just feeling underwhelmed…
One is female 杨阳.... One is male 杨洋... Different Chinese character same pronounce... 😅
Haha yeah, I do realize that they're two different people. (Director female, main actor male) I was just pointing out a fun coincidence... even if the individual characters that make up both Yang Yang's are different. :)
Oooooh Ji Chang Wook signed on to a historical drama?! Really cool, this show was already on my radar but the new casting announcements has just upped my interest tenfold! :)
If the July air date sticks, I wonder if they'll release a new poster as promotion for the drama. The current one feels a bit generic. *fingers crossed* I'm really looking forward to this airing soon!
It's been a while since I read the entirety of an article posted on MDL, really nicely written so kudos to you. Also, I got to learn many new things about a show I really loved! <3
The fact that the reaction he's been receiving is just a slew of hate from the SK media & people is honestly more so sad than anything else. Considering the MULTIPLE different drugs found in his blood, he should be sent to a rehab. Yoo Ah In is obviously struggling with addiction, and rather than the widespread animosity and shunning that he's receiving, some attentive care and a treatment plan focused on controlling his drug problem would do so much more good. I've even seen videos of people throwing drinks at him while he was being led away by the police... I mean seriously what does that accomplish other than making the person feel humiliated and worthless??? At this point, it's not about this being a beloved actor/oppa that's let you down, he's a human being that's deserving of some basic human empathy if nothing else.
Omg you're right!!! The inherited powers from their parents and being in high school part of it adds up, lol.…
The Incredibles is yet another good example. Haha, apparently this genre is less niche than I initially thought, lol. xD
Honestly, for the main cast alone I'd be interested in checking this out, but the premise itself also sounds really neat. *Fingers crossed* that this is a future 10/10 when it airs.
This sounds like the Hollywood movie, Sky High : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sky_High_(2005_film)Any one else…
Omg you're right!!! The inherited powers from their parents and being in high school part of it adds up, lol. I used to love that movie as a kid, gaaaaah this just ups my anticipation for this show even further!! :)
Thank you for this!!!! I just started the drama and now won't be shocked/triggered. Thank you!!!!
No problem, I’m glad I got the message out!!! I went in blind while watching and was taken aback by how graphic the scenes were, so knowing that it’s definitely something that’s triggering I felt the need to comment a warning.
Sending you an internet hug, and from the heart I say that this show was nothing special and DEFINITELY not worth continuing if it could potentially affect one’s mental health!
