So this is on my PTW list, but I’ve heard varying accounts as to whether it’s good or not. The biggest complaint I’ve read is the writing, so for people that have finished this or dropped while watching, what was good or bad about the show in your viewing experience???
My interpretation of the ending: *MAJOR SPOILERS ABOUT THE ENDING BELOW DON'T CLICK IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED!*
I believe that after TTJ died so that the array would be destroyed and that Evil Bone could truly shatter, a portion of his soul/immortal essence/power seeped into the Heart-Guarding Scale and he's quietly cultivating there. There's definitely hope especially after the 500 year time skip, that eventually in a few hundred years he'll have regained enough power to be able to cultivate another human body for himself. I.E. cultivation novel style where after a few hundred years even animals can cultivate a human form. And since Li SuSu is still alive and thriving with their little daughter, it's no biggie for a Goddess like her to just wait a few more years (because let's be honest hundreds of years is like taking a nap in their eyes) before her hubby can join them again! <3 As far as I'm concerned this is a soon to be happy ending: the world's safe, they've got a kid, and the ML's not fully dead. Obviously it would've been better if they both walked away without any scrapes and bruises, but given the seriousness of the Devil God/destruction of the world, this ending is fine too. If anything, I wish we'd gotten a bit more closure when it came to the supports.
The serpent's dream is it actually their previous life or just a dream
From my understanding it's just a dream, but they have some kind of connection with Ming Ye/Sang Jiu in-terms of them falling into the dream (and turning into those two) being fated. If you remember, a character mentioned that in Bo're Life they could literally reincarnate as a rock or animal, so I believe Ming Ye (the serpent) chose for them specifically to relive his past with Sang Jiu.
I just realized that this drama is only gonna be 12 eps long, and I actually don't mind that as someone that's read the original webtoon. If anything, I think that'll help keep the plot engaging and concise with *hopefully* no unnecessary filler! :)
Trigger warning for anyone (like myself) that can't handle violence towards animals! There's a scene near the beginning of the movie where they show a dog burnt and bloodied following an explosion.
You guys I’m not sure how they’ll actually be ending it, but IF it’s necessary Ep 35’s ending felt satisfying enough to view as a conclusion. I’m just saying… just in case this goes down the BE road. We’ll know for sure in a couple hours anyways.
I’m enjoying this show so far, but if the FL ends up not divorcing this human scum I’m going to be so disappointed! At this point he’s irredeemable for me.
Night Wanderer was literally my number 1 most anticipated out of China. Especially since one of my all-time favs Allen Deng was the ML. Really sucks to see him basically cancelled, I’m gonna keep my fingers crossed for an eventual comeback! 🖤
