Title You Are My Secret Spoiler
Yeah. She's beyond annoying. Making it seem like she's all that, when the only thing she's got going for her is…
He did tell he to do a proper check mutiple times.
She was looking in the wrong places, though, so she wasn't able to find it out. The SFL is an utter snake for not telling her and going to the ML instead.

That nepo baby is pissing me off.Imagine working your hardest and at every chance they get they undermine you.
Yeah. She's beyond annoying. Making it seem like she's all that, when the only thing she's got going for her is luck of birth.
I feel so bad for the FL. She deserves a hug.

Again I am back to ask "Why!!!!" Why do they insist on changing aspects of the novel that DID NOT NEED CHANGING!!!

The way the FL's parents treat the ML's mom is heartwarming. It's lovely to see their relationship.
But!!! In the novel, it was the FL taking care of her MIL. For a large part of the novel, especially right after the ML and FL got together, the MIL was in the hospital and the ML was busy with work. So the FL was very devoted to her MIL and always went to the hospital with food, company, etc. It showed that while the ML was extremely caring, the FL brought her end of the bargain too, in taking care of her MIL like a devoted daughter. It brought balance to their relationship and gave them something to care about mutually. Why the heck the show changed that is beyond me.

Also, in the novel the MIL had a great relationship with her son. She did not fall into a depression after her husband died, nor did she leave her son to fend for himself. Giving the ML a devoted and caring mother explains why he worked so hard to succeed - in order to take care of her and pay her back, and it also gives him a solid foundation for being a good husband- his parents had a good marriage plus his mom loved him and cared for him unconditionally. I liked that part of the novel, so again....why why WHY did the show change it??? Why detract from something so integral to the ML's character?

These details are important to character building. GRRRRR!!!!!!! Beyond furstrating.

There is standard "misunderstandings" like in those short c-dramas where the other woman frames the female lead…

Just caught up to all the episodes.. but disappointed. The trailer amd synopsis are misleading. They never got…
The novel was like that. It was an incredible story. Was hoping the show would follow it. Unfortunately, they made some horrid changes. At this point I don't know if I can call the show good, bad, or mediocre. But I'm defintely disappointed that it doesn't follow the novel.

I have a stupid question, so sorry ….How do we know they didn’t use a condom? I mean ml seems very very organize,…
It's not the government who called her. It was the privately owned clinics, who were doing marketing calls.

As far as I know, abortion is legal in China but I don't know any of the details or limitations.

I really don't know for sure, but it seems that the novel tried to stay true to life. It included details about finance and banking along with an author's notes which explained that all the details were factual.
So I assume this is accurate too? But I'm not 100% sure. It could just be a plot device.

The author wrote that those clinics could tell who browsed their sites by collecting cookies or something from visitors. The FL used her cellphone to do the web search so it picked up her phone number and she started getting marketing calls.

The source material isn't that great. Not saying this excuses any of Sahashi's behavior but that scene plays out…
Thank you so much!

question for the novel reader : does she ever find out that she is his childhood crush?
Yes, he tells her more towards the end of the novel.

Threatening someone about a crush? Or about their sexuality? That's a trash move. I don't care about your past, your trauma, whatever sob story you have to share. Nothing justifies such behavior.

Is it just me who finds this funny?
Sahashi is supposed to be this beautiful model, while in actuality Okuno is much more good-looking than Toyoda?

Yup. In the novel they get married immediately and a bit later start being intimate. She gets a pregnancy scare. Goes browsing online for abortion clinics, in a panic. Those clinics somehow have a way of tracking who visits their sites (WTH China??) and start calling her phone number. The office and ML overhear one of those calls. She runs out. He follows and asks her what's happening, why she would do this, especially without talking to him first. She responds that she didn't actually decide anything, just looking at her options, but it'd be bad for her to have a baby right now bc she's working hard to obtain a permenant position at the bank and having a pregnancy and baby would ruin that for her. Before they can resolve things the FL gets a call from her bestie that the bestie broke up with her BF and is hysterical. So she "escapes" from Yuheng and runs to comfort her bestie. She ends up staying at the bestie's house for several days (while avoiding the ML). During that time she confirms that she's not actually pregnant, it was a false alarm. She softens towards the ML and wants to apologize to him and go home. Before she can, her mom calls in a panic that Dad is in the hospital for a surgery. She runs to the hospital where things are out of control and she immediately calls the ML without thinking about it. He comes running to her and helps them navigate everything. He's their rock. Ultimately dad is fine and discharged. FL comes to the conclusion that despite her insecurities of not being good enough for him, of him not loving her and only being with her out of convenience, he's an amazing man and she will love him whole hartedly. I don't think they actually talk out the pregnany issue. She just makes an improved effort to shower him with love and attention and stops putting up barriers between them. It's a turning point in their relationship that brings them closer. After a while she ends up telling him that she loves him and the ML responds that he's actually loved her much longer, way back in school.

OK, I don't get it... based on the flashbacks, she was an optimistic girl when she was in high school. She has…
The novel explains it better.
In an nutshell, she was middle of the pack in high school and university. Not bad, but extremely average in academics and looks.

When she graduated college, her first job didn't work out. She was there for years with little advacement. She left that job and transfered to the bank job where, agian, she's been working hard with little reward to show for it. She can't seem to prove herself or advance.

To top it all off, her longtime boyfriend, who is a respected doctor, abandoned her for his career, basically illustrating that she isn't worthy of staying for or fighting for.

This is when we meet her at the start of the show.

She's had some major setbacks. Although she's never been outstanding, at least she's been average. With the setbacks she's faced, she's beginning to doubt even that, though she hasn't given up the fight to improve her lot.

A woman with this mindset is suddenly approached by the epitome of manhood, who aks her to marry him. He's alwasy been at the top. In school, at work, both smarts and looks. He's the cream of the crop. Anyone would want him. He has his pick of woman. Yet he chooses her, miss seemingly below average. She's severly lacking in self confidence. And is convinced that he only chose her bc he needed an immediate marriage to make his sick mom happy.
