Hua Mulan is back ! Our piggy butcher has paused like a monument dedicated to fallen chinese soldiers. What a detail ! What a message for veteran women !
With all due respect, I wish to emphasize what are the details you miss when fastforwarding for example: the music theme for each scene and at times the lietmotiv for your favorite actor/actress, all the actor's micro expressions including their tones of voice and script, the settings itself so simple but well drawn from paper to the screen, the scenery, wardrobe accurately designed, the props well documented. All these are quite fun to watch and to listen for "only" a 40 episode drama.
Should you take this gem for granted, you miss the crew's hard work. These departments worked intelligently for month to grace you with your favorite actor/actress. And these actor and actress, in return, molded their craft diligently into something they believe in, and in turn, would please you..
We have to acknowledge that it's not at the same level as a movie with a spendthrift budget. Still, they propel a fun story nicely created from a script to our screen. The director's creativity is to be reckoned with.
You could find it fun if for at least one episode you test your patience and enjoy it at its fullest. In the meantime, I wish you an enjoyable Pursuit Of Jade watching.
The cast of "Blades Of Guardians" clearly weren't expecting so many milestones given how poorly wuxia…
I was obsessed at Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon at the time of its airing. Blades of the Guardians gave me the same drive and your obsession is in my favour as I don't have to dig much about the production. Once more thank you.
Yu BaoEr has his psycho dad's streak, but good thing he'll have better people around him once he's free.
What an actor he is ! What an amazing director ! Where are these young actors/actresses trained ? Where Cdramaland casting department fishes them from ?
There are details that make this story interesting to watch. It isn't concentrated only on fighting and infighting among the political court. It's about the whole cast even the pigs and the recipes are included, neighboors' grudges, village incidents. Each episode is packed of info. Not one boring moment.
Nothing much just my lahghters at the opening of each episode watching that pig running away. So, I looked up some word-to-word idioms or sayings with the word "pig". Some I ignored because they were quite discriminatory.
- people fear getting famous like pigs fear fattening up - to make a pig of oneself - sweating like a pig - the six domestic animals, namely: pig, cow, sheep, horse, chicken and dog - people fear getting famous like pigs fear fattening up - Zhu Bajie, character in Journey to the West - to kill the pigs and slaughter the sheep - the sun rises in the west / pigs can fly - to eat and drink gluttonously / to pig out - to kill a pig as a lesson to the children / parents must teach by example - pig butchering scam (where the scammer builds trust with the victim over time, "fattening them up," before ultimately "slaughtering" them by taking their money); (esp.) romance scam - a dead pig doesn't fear scalding water - etc...
