Rewatching every last 2 episodes. I HAD to raise my rating to 9. Now I'm ready to reading the novel. Day off tomorrow so this is going to be my bedtime story.
asking if this is what China has become is a weird take. does every makjang/soap/telenovela reflect the everyday…
Your comment comfort me in regards to China life style. I know that it isn't a reflexion of the whole society, at least as long as it doesn't copy other countries. Your experience is better than mine which puts you in a better position to acknowledge that reality in China. I can understand that writters' imagination can be over expressed - unless it is another narrative taken by the direcor - in contemporary Cdramas this is the reason why I watch little of this genre. This story started well but I was expecting more depth and growth.
"maybe actual people watching something they don't like is a sign of that though" end of your quote. Fortunately, I need only 4 hour sleep. Although with my busy schedule I gift myself with a few Cdramas.
Is this story a parody of Faust ? What a desapointment !
What a mess navigating in the illusion of a perfect love that doesn't exist. What a waste of their youth. What a waste of the former generations that sacrificed their life for their descendants and for what result ? This middle class generation has too much free time on their respective agenda. Too much money to spend on so called riches - brands bags, clothes, shoes and cars that fill in the pockets of the oligarchs while they forget to open wide their eyes on their surroundings. The camera shows the delapidated streets and quarters of their city, then the depravation of these kids' morality. These kids have no self respect, no self estim. It's all "Me, Myself and I" petty life. Fucking, drinking with whomever they feel like it then crying and blaming others for their failuress. A band of unconscious loosers.
Now that I've vented I am grateful that this series isn't censored. I still ponder if that is what China has become ?
No need to pick up a stone to throw at me. It wont' reach me and might bounce back into your courtyard.
I can't anymore with aunt Zhao. Guys take note of the 9th episode and follow suit aunt Zhao's advice. It's now or never. You'll have no regrets later in life. The writer doesn't give me a lil break of sadness and laughters ; one follows the other at the light speed. This section of the script is tearing my heart in two as if Cupid's arrow has already left its bowstring. It is so well balanced before the storm.
Should they do that, I go bankrupt. I already skipped work for the first 5 episodes.
You surely noticed in the 1st episode : the tough way she deals with the pig similar to her dealing with biaised human; her saying to her neighbour about her consulting the calendar...it's a lucky day, then...she finds him; although 3/4 of the village is judging her, she is always praying for goodness similar to the Ho'oponopono prayer. What a beautiful soul and it is written on her face; her confusion with his family name "All Solus" refering to Latin. During that era Persia was the key import of western culture. The writer's clin d'oeil of Chinese history is on point. I found this very respectful to the World history; the story of that scholar and his mother is already set forth and it will be troublesome. Hope director's concept won't be a déjà vu; the light only on the falling of the shopstick when hiding in the pigstile says it all. What an amazing take used for his falling head over heals for her. Their acting is so believable; the solaces rewarded to the viewers with the complicity of both sisters is cleverly introduced.
Gong has a Batman on his jacket ? This guy is too hilarious. Was Bei testing Xiao Xi ? Did Am Nui distroyed his former relationship ? Is this Am Nui a sneaky viper ? Episode 17th has reached a curved and the story is taking a nasty course...oh boy !
I'm through the 5th episode with same rating. I foresee my horse and " adorable piggy" at the finishing line. I expect some clichés with some pretentious high socialite daughter or ex-to-be-mother-il-law even supposed futur scholar. Please screenwriter keep the momemtum and avoid deviations with fillers.

Happy drama watching.
