Here for Deng Wei!!! ❤️‍🔥☺️I hope Li Yi Tong's character is more likeable than "Sword and Beloved"…
I thought I was the only one who couldn’t watch that drama, even for ML. But everyone on here seemed to love it while it was airing.

I watched RN twice a long time ago. We definitely must watch the 12 eps (special) after the 60 eps tho; otherwise,…
Yay!
It felt lonely to watch without comments or a conversation that’s ongoing, but I’m also glad as I got to form my own opinion.

They were so young here and look more real as there is less makeup.

Hate it. BUT, as I said elsewhere, I'm not going to complain too much, since it is why we are finally getting…
I’m skipping the scenes. Also feel bad for the real actor shame.

With all this said, I would still highly recommend the drama, even if you take it for the first half.

Cool!

I think the low rating is based on several things, FL not loving ML much and even when she did she couldn’t show it (think of The Red Sleeve in terms of this), they had blood feud.

FL had an aura of a “king”, dangerous if she’s against you and great if she with you. The grandfather didn’t like her for this.

She had a power crazy sister who was used by ML’s uncle.

The uncles were against ML, he could defeat them but it was too much to fight, eventually they made him kinda go crazy with poison.

Before the grandfather passes away, everything was good, and very intriguing, he was a great thinker who also prioritised family in his way.

I felt bad for ML, as from this point things began very realistic and I suspect that a lot of people couldn’t handle it.

I couldn’t handle his passing, and didn’t really like FL’s domineering behaviour, I don’t remember much now about what happened, but i think I read she rekindled with childhood sweetheart.

I would prefer RN 10 x than The Longest Day in Chang’an tho.
Me too, I haven’t finished The Longest Day in Chang’an for many reasons.

It needs full concentration but doesn’t fully capture you from the beginning. I think it’s best for people who the leafs’ previous work. For me, my fave was in support role. I didn’t like the robot face of the guy close to the crown prince.

With that said, I will still go back to it one day when I have nothing to watch.

It’s very good, however, it gets very realistic towards the end, even I struggled to continue:-)

But, it was so refreshing so refreshing to see an emperor like that, who prioritised family and tried his best to make his children not kill each other, who also atoned for his sins.

So, I do repeat it for the parts I liked and the lead actor’s great performance. Love his relationship with his grandfather.

It has been few days since I last wandered back to this page, drawn not by the chatter of comments but by the quiet desire to savour the drama unclouded, unshaken by outside voices.

After immersing myself in a few episodes, I felt an irresistible pull to return and inscribe my admiration. The theme itself is luminous, unfolding mostly beneath the daylight, an uncommon choice that lends the narrative a gentle radiance.

It’s refreshing since, we have been inundated with dramas steeped in shadows: tales drenched in crimson hues, heavy with dark symbolism, and scripts that promised brilliance but faltered into mediocrity. This explains why I could not finish watching dramas such as The Pursuit of Jade, Ashes to Crown, Shadow Love, or Fated Hearts.

Each began with high anticipation, only to dissolve into disappointment. Shadow Love, in particular, lost me before the first episode could even breathe.

This current drama, however, feels like a rare jewel. For me, it claims the crown of the year thus far. Watching it is akin to leafing through a book of poetry or peeling back the delicate layers of an onion, each revelation leaving us guessing, each silence brimming with possibility. That, indeed, is its beauty.

Though it may be premature, I find myself tempted to compare its artistry to the grandeur of The Legend of Zang Hai or the intensity of Vendetta of An. Time will tell if such comparisons hold true
.
Until then, happy watching, may the unfolding chapters of this drama continue to surprise and delight.
