It's so funny, I get confused about Xuan Huan too. I don't know if you knew this, but your 2 favourites, 'BFTB' and 'TSL,' are related to 'TBL'. The director was from 'BFTB,' while the production, costume designer, & producer were the ones who made 'TSL'.

It looks like he goes bad or poisoned towards the end after interacting with the 'dream-breaking immortal,' a villain played by Zhao Liying who's guesting. So I'm guessing he'll be good then, grey/black😏.

Don't be put off by comments. For me, the last 5 eps closed the deal & made it not your average xianxia. The producer called it 'brain burning' 'Mobius loop, time travel' & the end was that & it gets you thinking after it's over. The arc of the antagonist goes up & down, & his motivations are revealed towards the end. The ones who don't like it are here for the CP. So they felt the end should've focussed on that. Plus, they wanted the antagonist presented fully as evil but the story is more nuanced. They show there's more depth to the surface than what they presented us.

I read some chapters that weren't under a paywall. It's actually addictive & I was gonna subscribe but couldn't get in. From the comments, it looks like there will be red herrings, reversals, plus a subversive ending (if they go with the book).

This writer, dir & production team were behind 'Heroes' which I really liked, with 90% of the same cast. So I'm looking forward to what they do here. & yes, Zeng Jie on the face of it will be a bad man😅.

Yes, the future Demon King with XXC's fragment made him stronger in their duel. The past ZM sacrificing his happiness with AZ & knowingly going through 10,000 years again as to let XXC take over so we have our start is... hard to take. I like to imagine this time he wasn't chained up in pain but in a long slumber. As for TMS, because he destroyed the 'Destiny Book'. The world is going to be similar to ours in that we have time, but cause & effect are not bound by a fate book, so I assume (I could be wrong...) he will no longer reincarnate with a fragment as NXY like before. Feng Yao will exist, but her life without NXY would mean her brother not getting kidnapped & rescued into the Xuan Tian Sect, & he possibly never becoming their leader. Obviously, I would love to imagine TMS reincarnated with Feng Yao. This time without the burden of his curse😏.

It does feel like they crammed it all in in the last 3 eps, & we could've done with another two.

🔸ML, FL, and 2ML eventually joined forces to defeat Hao Tian. Their plan was for 2ML and FL to use their powers to create a space exempt from time and space, while ML allowed himself to be possessed. This would enable the possessed ML from the past to fight the possessed ML from the present, ultimately allowing them to kill Hao Tian, since they wouldn’t have been able to otherwise (only HT can kill HT). The plan succeeded, with 2ML sacrificing himself, and the ML from the past dying because he was weaker than the ML from the present (the past ML lacked the fragment of the soul that later became XXC, while the present ML had it restored).
The present ML then had to take the place of his past self, enduring another 10 000 years of imprisonment, while the FL from the past had to repeat the same process that had been done 10 000 years ago, to prevent any changes to the present and ensure that everything leading to the final battle with Hao Tian stayed the same.

The final scene shows the present, 10 000 years later, where ML is free and now represents a version of himself in which ZM and XXC have merged. He retains XXC’s memories and personality, but has the body and powers of a demon. After sealing ML again, in the past, 2ML destroyed the Book of Fate (and himself?), believing it was no longer necessary, as people would now be the creators of their own destinies/fates. It’s unclear whether he later reincarnated as a human, but I believe he had to be, because he needed to exist for the plan against Hao Tian to succeed.
