The book is very sad with lots of crying scenes *however* the trailer shows Fourteen (Pooh's character) fighting monsters and those aren't in the book at all. There aren't any supernatural creatures besides the grim reapers in the book. This makes me think that they're only using the original story as inspo and aren't going to be following it too closely.

I'm pretty sure the preview clip for next week's episode showed them going to therapy. I'm really loving the mental health representation in this show so far. Everything is so well thought out and acted beautifully.

Based on what we know from Je Meow's own childhood, she had strict parents and she would often sneak out and try to live independently. As Lynx grew older she probably thought giving him his independence and being a hands off parent would be good for him because that's what she wanted growing up, but in the end he wound up feeling abandoned and resenting her for it. Unfortunately a parent's best is not always good enough.

Everybody is complaining about that teddy bear lol. I'm sure Quin kept it as a reminder of the bad relationship and to not get into a similar one again. That's probably why Quin doesn't say anything when Duang very visibly assaults it lmao.
But actually I'm really interested to learn more about Quin and Tiw's past relationship. Quin said before that he doesn't let friends pursue him and clearly Tiw is the reason why he set such a firm boundary on the matter. I'm curious to find out what exactly it was that Tiw did to cause their relationship to sour and also was Tiw the guy he had sex with??
I feel like next week is gonna be a whole can of worms, but it'll be alright as long as Duang is smiling again by the end of the episode I'll be happy. This is too much drama for my prime time fluff.

Yeah, it's pretty normal. Keep in mind the crew are also doing editing and everything on what's being filmed at the same time. So once the show is done with filming, it's basically ready to be aired. So like any other series being made anywhere else it takes about a year from start to finish.

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. It depends on the story and the actors tbh. Ie, just the other week I watched 4Minutes and now I really wish JesBible would do another series together lol, but shows like My Magic Prophecy where I'm watching a 'love triangle' play out and I'm just like, Why'd they even bother?
It's one of the reasons why I wish companies would open up ships to throuples/polycules to make things more interesting.

Well Winny said that he'd be back eventually and Satang has posted that he's okay with messy plans so I guess this breakup is more of just a break, but we'll see how things turn out.
Honestly, as much as I love WinnySatang and the other couples, I kinda wish GMM didn't have as many fixed ships. It'd be nice if we actually didn't know which characters wind up together before the show even starts.

For real! I've been hella confused with where people's minds are going with this one. Like, do they think this show is going to have smut?? These people are absolutely delulu and the fact that they're even thinking that a show that centers around mental trauma and children would have sexual content says a lot more about them and their thoughts.

The writing on this series is so good! I'm so excited for next week's episode.

There's only a pilot trailer rn. That was made last year, before even the script was written. It's just a concept video to give fans and investors an idea about what the show is going to be about and who the cast is going to be. Pilot trailers can turn out wildly different than the final product. Ie for Jack&Joker the pilot trailer was a 10min clip of the gang robbing a casino, in the actual series they never even looked at a casino. In the Dare You To Death pilot trailer JoongDunk had more of an enemies to lovers plot, but the series actually just has them being in love from the get go.
They're only just wrapping up filming for LYT now, they'll put out an official trailer hopefully in the coming weeks and that'll give us a better idea of what the show is going to look like.

I hope GMM has PerthSanta in reaction videos. This seems to be an ongoing trend with all their recent series so finger's crossed LYT gets reaction videos from them as well. I need all the PerthSanta content. <3

Q=queue and it means a day of filming. On average a series has ~30 Qs. This series is on Q26 which means it's almost done bing filmed.

No, I've been thinking the same. I was kinda hoping that they might make this series DunkJoong since that seemed to be the energy they were giving, but I guess not lol.

Agreed, for Dare You to Death it feels like I'm watching two different shows. The murder mystery and the romance scenes are so disjointed. Like we get scenes of these brutal murders and then it cuts to JoongDunk flirting with their ost blasting in the background. While I love JoongDunk (and that ost) it doesn't match the tone they've set for the show.
And the murder mystery and the romance are happening at completely different speeds. The feelings should be developing along with the case, but instead their relationship is happening at hyper speed and the murder mystery is moving at a snail's pace.
In the reaction video even Joong seemed surprised about how fast the romance was happening.
Idk what it is with GMMTV series that the writers and editors don't seem to know how to balance romance with any other genre. Anytime action, mystery, or fantasy elements are thrown in the whole series winds up falling short.

Honestly, it's hard to say. The story is confusing and has some really weird moments, but also I think the idea is that story is supposed to feel like a fever dream. It really goes all over the place and the pacing for the romance is really fast. Won't really know if watching the series is worth it until the finale. If they manage to stick the ending then this might wind up being one of the best murder mystery shows, but if the ending flops this will be one of the worst shows ever.
At the very least it's free to watch on gmmtv's youtube channel, there's A+ acting all around, the music soundtrack is nice to listen, and ForceBook offers a lot of fan service so I wouldn't call it a complete waste even if the plot is really weird.

Yes, my mind went to Guardian as well lmao. But the live action of that is cursed fr. I still can't believe they changed the genre from fantasy to sci-fi, and the ending of that series... It's better not to speak of it.

I really hope this turns out well and Change puts in the work/money to make the special effects and props look amazing. I'm also real curious to see who else will be casted for this. And hopefully a proper pilot trailer drops sometime soon, a four minute clip was definitely not enough!
