Okay, I know that this is gonna be sad ending and I don’t mind sad ending (I actually don’t understand why…
Maybe we should not see it from our perspective with our values. During these times ruled by emperors, empresses and kings, Justice was what these people said it is. I am not even surprised the Emperor Guangling who caused war and so many deaths to satisfy his ambition and obssessions, just died quietly in his bed. Commoner could hardly take these people down in the name of Justice. And it is still true nowadays. In many countries...
ratings are often deceiving....good dramas have ratings below what they should be, average/standard dramas have…
True. There are some average drama who have very good ratings just because the leads are too cute together and there is a huge machine to sell fan services to their huge fanbase and mobilize them. But ok, I guess it is part of the game.
He dies there. This is how he is meeting his old fellow companions.
lol. No I am just speculating because he said he had to come back here before the departure. I guess he is just reminiscing about his fellow companions, about what happened ( them deciding to rebuild the temple) and what could have been (his master and ShiYi inviting him it to enter a fully rebuilt temple)
Night Watchman w/Jung Il Woo comes to mind. I remember the CGI was considered a big deal back then because usually…
I dropped Night Watchman after a few eps. The leads were a bit too bland for my taste and the story was draggy from the beginning.
Sometimes when there is too much CGI it hides flaws in the writing or illogic points. For example "how did the mother delivered all by herself wearing pants? How Ha Ram's dad survived the fall from a cliff? How come a blossoming tree can give fruits? How the fishes landed the girl at the exact place she was born?" ... Taken individually, it is nothing but cumulating them can be prejudiciable to the drama.
Ok it is just a first ep. A lot of good thing and a few less good things. Finger crossed. The drama is will good.
they never did this with a sageuk before, right? xianxia like/CGI
I cannot say I have seen all the SK sageuk so I can only speak compared to my experience. SK drama usually have their own kind of fantasy involving gods, gumihos, nine tailed foxes, goblins, reapers, zombies, witches, vampires...
This kind of goddess fighting god, gods using humans, humans fighting gods, God turning into animal or insect, God in human form, little golden butterfly swimming in the pond and summons fishes to help human with CGI everywhere, that's quite rare for me. I was surprised. Not that is was bad. Just that it was unexpected.
Oh and I almost forgot: peach trees in full blossom which give peaches at the same time...
It expresses his regret that he had to live a life where he was fully dedicated to his duty and he wished he could…
It is in ep15 after advisor Xie dies, he and ShiYi go to the river with the horses. On the trip back, he promises her he will take her to the Yanmen pass next spring. But at the beginning of winter, she has to go to the capital for her wedding. I think he mentions this trip again later when they are in the capital but don't know in which episode any more.
It expresses his regret that he had to live a life where he was fully dedicated to his duty and he wished he could…
Throught the moments they shared, she could have suspected he had feelings for her but she could not be sure. She could not make the difference between the affection of a master and the true love of a man for the woman she is. And she did not want to know. She would have been happy enough just to live next to him in the Royal Mansion.
The eve of her departure from the mansion, she hugged him while she was crying. But he stayed restrained and patted her head like a good master. He always paid atttention not to show his true feelings because of his oath and duty.
This is why it was also easy for her to marry. Not only because it was for her family but also she was resigned to not be able to live with her master. That was her regret. It was not to lose the man who she supposedly knew loved her. If she knew he loved her, I am sure she would have made the young emperor cancel the engagement a second time. She never looked willing to escape the second engagement. She was decided to part and she almost married Liu Zi Xing if not for circumstancial reasons.
It is because she received the blood letter that she knew his feelings, his regret and that she was in his heart until the end. For me, had she not received this letter, she would not have jumped off the gates of the city to be with him.
I am wondering how old the two characters are in this drama. I remember Chugakusei Nikki (2018) in the same genre. It was pretty decent. I am sure they will keep the plot in the limits of the acceptable.
Also Beom Tae and Joon Wook are not in a love triangle. The girl likes none of them.
