I have not read the book and I don't intend to. For me, the book is the source material for the drama but they are different artworks with their own rules, qualities and flaws...

I am very curious to see if and how they will remember their past life or what kind of connexion will exist between them in the modern time and ShiYi and Zhou Sheng Chen of the ancient time.

Only 8 eps?

The risk with action kdrama is that it is more violent and cliché rather than smart and intelligent. I was disappointed by LUCA, Sisyphus, Rugal, Awaken... I hope this one will be better.

Trailer looks fun. Kim Min Jae was convincing in DYLB but here he looks a bit over reacting... FL is more composed. The lead actress' fame is skyrocketting since IOTNBO. Hope the drama will be good.

The romance is surprising because at first it is him who confesses his feelings and why he chose to join the Police University. But soon, it is her who is pursuing him. It is funny and not too serious as the focus is put on the thriller part. The two leads have a good chemistry for me but it is also because of the uniform. They both look great in the uniform.

It expresses his regret that he had to live a life where he was fully dedicated to his duty and he wished he could have been able to accept her feelings and give her the love and affection he had for her. He failed her as he could not return her love and take her to the north like he promised he would do.

He never confessed his feelings for her. He could not. This is also why she was resigned to marry as part of her filial duty and she had no real problem with it. After she received that message and these last words from him, written in his blood, she understood that he loved her indeed.

This is why when she jumped off the city gate, she could confidently call his name and say she is here to marry him. Or else jumping off would have been an act of delusion from her if she wasn't now sure Zhou Sheng Chen loved her too.

Don't worry. It is tragic but not convoluted, farfetched or unjustified. There is a good reason why it happens. The demise of the ML happens very quickly but for a good reason and it is done in a way which is logical and understandable considering his character.

I don't know how it will be in the drama but I think it is better this way. They are supposed to reincarnate and meet again. This should look like fate. If the whole Nanchen Royal Mansion Family is reincarnated it would not be fate with 1 chance over 1 million.

At first I was thinking maybe the bad guy will be the reincarnation of the Regent who became Emperor. I am glad it is not the case. I hope for a very different and original story.

Zhou Sheng Chen failed as a general. He was outsmarted by the bad guys and he had to take responsibility. This is why he saved the kid emperor and had his generals leave the palace in exchange of his life. I don't think he really cared about how he will be remembered. He just cared to leave one last message.

ShiYi knew her groom is the man who made her master die unjustly and she was too weak to take revenge. But the real reason is that she could not marry that man and she could not escape and see her family be executed because of her.

I respect both of them for their choice.

Not in this drama...

14 years is fine. It makes the story more realistic considering the period during which it takes place.

They don't all die. And the good guys who do, die a meaningful death...

If you look at the rating's evolution, it is decent and above 8 until the 9th episode. The rating takes a nose dive overnight because of ep10 only. So it is not that people did not understand the realistic tone of drama. It is because something in the last episode was wrong. For me, people took ep1 to ep9 as quite realistic. Things you can see or meet in real life. The 10th one was completely unrealistic and totally in contradiction with the 9 previous eps. This is why the slump.

I beg to differ...

Suspicious partner is a very good drama with two leads that are not innocent but mature persons. There are numerous characters around them who are fun and endearing even the "usual bitch". The bad guys'story is well constructed. The drama is an easy watch and an entertaining one with a good thriller part and some hilarious moments.

The crazy thing is she decided to end up with Jae Eon over a drawing he made of her looking at her own butt.

The ending is at odds with the rest of the drama. I don't mind that they end up together but it should be logical with the 9 previous episodes. The "love at first sight" thing was a terrible stunt which just took the viewers for stupid.

Quav dev. It is not about him having no character development. It is about that nonsensical happy ending when he has no character development.
