I like how the characters are still fun but there is also a mature tone in the way they are dealing with their situation. Wu Ying impressed me with how she made her choice. Yu Yi is also a really good guy and a real friend.
For me, Na Bi is not really toxic but she sure likes toxic guys instead of good guys. This is the most disappointing…
You are trying to save private Jae Eon and his terrible sociopath behavior. I wish we knew why he behaves like that but explaining a behavior is one thing. Justifying this behavior is another thing. People should be judged on what they do.
- Jae Eon stalked Na Bi numerous time at her workplace where he showed up out of the blue - He was roaming around her apartment until he can find a way to be in her apartment. He was sent home but still found a way in. - He knew Na Bi was watching and he purposely kissed a girl to provoke her into jealousy. He used one person to attain another person. That's manipulation. - He stalks her when she is talking with another guy. - Numerous time, he arrived silently behind her to surprise her, touch her or her hair. - He makes himself a host in the festival so he can monitor her and he is so lucky he can witness her being rejected. But Is it really luck? - He went to Na Bi's Aunt house after she rejected him and he made the Aunt know that he ate her Jangmin dish with Na Bi that she sent to her. He make her know how close they are to tell NA Bi "don't protest, I am the one deciding how much your aunt will know about us". - He let Na Bi misunderstand the situation for a long time so that the truth appears of course and she is so sorry, she crawls back to him to apologize. That's toying with her emotions again. - That episode when he sees DH and uses her to enter her apartment and make the other guy jealous on purpose. - Also he sold her the story that he fell in love with someone in an art exhibition but he does confess it is her in a romantic way like any normal person would do. No. He steals her sketchbook to draw in it in a way to tell her the woman he fell in love with is her. Then he uses a guy so it can be given to her hand to hand and it is not him. That would make her come looking for him. That is manipulation again. There is nothing romantic in this. It is a scheme.
And this list is not exhaustive. I don't mention how he behaved towards his so called long time girl friend or DH. There is also the red flags that I missed.
This guy is a freak... It would be ok if he showed signs of improvement but no. Na Bi is a victim but ok, it takes two to tango. She is a consenting victim.
the absolute clownery........ jesus christ. LIKE GIRL WHAT THE FAWK IS WRONG WITH KDRAMA WRITERS PLEASE ,,,, god…
Total disappointment. A drama with a huge promise to deal with unconventional matters within couples finally send these couples in ridiculous unsavoury or illogical but so cute endings (except for the two seniors).
Unpopular opinion: But I thought Na Bi was just as “toxic” as Jae Eon, the writer just made his toxicity more…
For me, Na Bi is not really toxic but she sure likes toxic guys instead of good guys. This is the most disappointing part in her character. Because she made people have sympathy for her after her miserable first relationship. People hoped she would mature and find a man who is caring, loving, honest, respectful of her. But what she choose in the end is just another manipulative freak who likes toying with her feelings and her emotions. Maybe she is a frog who likes scorpions.
Yes, I think the most hilarious fact about this show is how they sent her as a disciple to a military man and…
It was funny because the way she was sent to him was like a bride sent to her groom. His brother was always saying compliments and there was a huge legend built around him that made her anticipating their meeting.
One couple was doomed already ( General Hong and Cui Feng). And there's the potential one, General Feng and the…
The Monk looks suspicious to me. He is great beating the enemy soldiers bare handed but his past and intentions are not clear. I hope he will not drag General Feng to her downfall.
All these relationships look doomed to end in tragedy but strangely I am eager to see how it will happen.
I don't think so? He's been busy protecting the border from such a young age so I don't think he had many chances…
/HUGE SPOILER:
She had a crush on ZSC. But the late Emperor had a crush on her so she was "scheduled" to marry the Emperor but he died before the wedding and ZSC was sent to the Western State. She was made a nun allowed to keep her hair. There is a hint that ZSC and her were friends but he probably did not love her in return.
I think she feels guilty about it but she can't help herself falling for him. She is most likely hoping for a…
I agree with you. She took the piece of puzzle as a leverage to try to "extort" a confession from him at the restaurant and then she would have explained the situation. I am not mad at her for trying her chance because she has fallen for him now.
Not me. I like the new situation. The scene in the restaurant was funny. It showed a different Ai Jing Chu. Loved it when he said to his ex-roomate "What you looking at?" and forced him turn his face towards the sea. His roomate asked him to be his wingman but it is him who is going to be Ai Jing Chu's wingman.
I'm in my late 30s, so might have a different perspective than the majority here, but I actually really liked…
I don't think they matured or learnt from their mistakes.
Na Bi was in a wrong relationship with a narcissistic pervert and as soon as she broke up with him, she fell for a manipulative freak because she was craving for skinship and more with him. In the end, she doesn't know anything about him but she goes with him because he said "I fell in love with you long time ago and meeting again is destiny".
Jae Eon is a sociopath. He doesn't live by the rules of common courtesy in social relations. He has no real friends and he manipulates people especially women to be on their good side, use them, be friend with no string attached. Nobody knows why and in the end, he shows no change and there is no sign that he can change.
The final romantic ending was really disappointing and misplaced compared to the initial complexity and struggles of the characters. To end it like was lazy writing.
Seriously, it was creepy to see Jae Eon in the morning in her aunt's house, helping her like they are acquaintances…
Him facing her and "falling in love" while she is watching the sculpture of her, naked, spreading legs and bending over... It was gross. That scene made me uncomfortable and finally, I laughed.
In fact I have two problems with this "love at fist sight" narrative.
1 - How did Jae Eon fell in love with her at the most humiliating moment of ther life and how she was moved by this? There is something weird about this. If you live the worst moment of your life and someone tells you "I fell in love with you at that moment.." ??? . Sick.
2 - When they were in the premises of that art exposition, she said she was uncomfortable because she lived a bad experience there. But he cut her off and said he fell in love with a woman in this place. Why? Because of course, he had everything planned. He planned to steal her sketchbook, draw the pictures of the three of them (him, her and the naked scupture) and one of her, ask the other guy to give it back to her, to tell her "see I was there and the woman I feel in love with is you". Another manipulative calculated move from his part.
But the most disappointing is that Na Bi put a towel on his sneaky ways and went with him walking hand in hand in the most romantic kdrama ending. BS.
I don't mind the love triangle if it is a way to develop characters by putting them in a dilema and not one girl/guy…
But they were not bf/gf yet. They were still unsure of the feelings of the other. They were not dating so there are many part of her life she did not tell him and same for him. He never told her about his time in the USA or his best friend.
They were still in the phase of being smitten so I understand she did not tell him her secret true dream of being a writer.
I didnt see the webtoon for this show, but from what I've read in the comments you really don't get any of Jae…
Seriously, it was creepy to see Jae Eon in the morning in her aunt's house, helping her like they are acquaintances when Na Bi just rejected him the previous evening. The worst is when he said that he liked her Jangjorim dish out of the blue and she says how come it is possible (as they never met before) and she only sent the dish to Na Bi. Jae Eon was clearly implying he and Na Bi were close enough to eat together that dish she sent and Na Bi told him it was cooked by her aunt.
That put Na Bi on a hot spot as she reproached her aunt to have welcomed him so easily in her house. The guy is a complete freak and a manipulator. I have the feeling that some people just want to shake off and forget all his sneaky manipulative behaviors just for the sake of romance.

It is possible things would have been easier if she told him she is trying to be a writer, she wrote a book about herself and her first Love and that she is not waiting for him anymore. Good communication is always better.
But she was hidding her "writer" project and idenity from people. She was still unsure of being one. She did not anticipate the importance of the signing session and the success of her book. I think she did not tell the truth to the Dr because she was waiting for a better occasion but things escalated too fast. The Dr discovered part of the truth but he did not try to confront her either.
I specially enjoyed the two last episodes and the set up between the 3 persons in the Love triangle. I am pretty sure there won't be too much angst as all of them look goodhearted.
There is one but the third person doesn't know he likes the girl. An probably there will be another love triangle.
Ma Yi YI had a crush on a programmer guy who is not Yu Yi. Yu Yi is the guy who was giving her private lessons when she was 16 and he helped her go thought difficult time.
Seriously, why put Yu Yi in the drama? Only 10 episodes are left and you want to fill it with a love triangle…
I like the set up. Now she will have to choose between a first love who will be pursuing her and her new "love" who will propably drop his candidacy. Or it can also become a very fun love triangle.
awh the love triangle was honestly unnecessary but lets see how it goes
I don't mind the love triangle if it is a way to develop characters by putting them in a dilema and not one girl/guy swinging between two lovers... Hope this one won't let me down.
