On When the Phone Rings Jan 6, 2025
Wow, while it was airing the rating was 8.9 and now it suddenly dropped to 8.3
I watched the first 4 episodes last night and it was nothing special.
I hope it will get better...

Title Squid Game Season 2 Spoiler
I read so many negative comments that I was scared to watch this, but this season was very good. Was it better…
Player #246 is definitely alive, they didn't show the exact moment when he was shot, so it was probably guard 011 who shot him in a non-vital place, so he won't die.

We already know the last 3 games, because of the poster and short clip at the end of episode 7 + the other 2 games are on the walls, where the players sleep, just like in S1, so all three sound exciting and dangerous.

Some of our favourite characters will difinitely die, but at least here, not only one player will be left at the end, that's for sure.
I have a feeling that Gi Hoon might not make it out alive this time.

I read so many negative comments that I was scared to watch this, but this season was very good.
Was it better than the first one? - No.
And it doesn't have to be, nothing can beat the excitement we all felt while watching S1.
This season also had pretty likeabale characters, it's both similar and very different from the first season, it also had some pretty nice plot twists, I'm sure they've got more in store and will be able to surprise us until the end.
This season is not about the games, it's about ending them, that's the biggest difference and it was most evident it episode 7. Also, Gi Hoon is a totally different person, because of all events, he lost his smile and his cheerfulness, LJJ really is a great actor, he portrayed that very well.
Most people were probably salty, because of the "ending", a title like "Season 3" is not appropriate, because it's simply Part Two of Season 2, just like in The Glory. That's how the indsutry works, Squid Game makes a huge profit, so they are trying to make use of that.
If you enjoyed the first season, defintely watch this one as well or simply wait until June, so you can watch everything, don't be swayed too much because of the comments.
Squid Game has always been and always will be, both hated and loved by the public, nobody's saying everybody should like it just because it's popular.

Title Black Out Spoiler
Aaah, this drama... it's started off well, then I began losing interest little by little. I still enjoyed it,…
First off, from the main characters I like No Sang Cheol the most, he was a consistent and great character.
Jeong U... come on, so many people ruined his life and he was still trying to be kind to them, even the person who tried to kill his mother, he even took Geon O in, okay, yes, he was left with no family and he's ill, but he still knew everything that happened 10 years ago and kept quiet, even if his words couldn't be used in court, showing Da Eun's body would've been enough to prove Jeong U wasn't the killer and start up the investigation again.
The fact that two girls were killed by different people, in the same place, 30 minutes apart, was just...
If something is shared between more that two people, it's no longer a secret, someone, somewhere is meant to slip up and make a mistake, two witnesses who saw everything and so many people were involved in the murders and it was all kept hidden for over 10 years, it's just absurd.
They focusued too much on Boyoung, that at times I even wondered if Daeun wasn't alive.
The real killers didn't pay for their crimes, killing them off was a way too good ending for them, especially for Minsu's father who kept deceiving his family and so called close friend for years, after killing his daughter.

Aaah, this drama... it's started off well, then I began losing interest little by little.
I still enjoyed it, the acting was great, everyone was suspicious all the time, you just come to hate everybody in the village, especially the elders.
It was a good thriller and in the first half it was really hard to guess who the real killer is, then they kept adding more and more, they dragged out and the suspense slowly faded away.
I'll still give this a 7,5/10, because it had its good moments, however it could've been much better.
I saw some comments saying that 14 episodes were too much, maybe that's one of the reasons, personally I don't have a problem with the number of the episodes, but with some things that happened in the drama.
I'll write more detailed thoughts, marked as a spoiler.

Title Monster
As a primary teacher myself, the movie was interesting to watch.
Sadly, kids nowadays, even the youngest can be very cruel and kids are often mistreated and misunderstood by adults, including their parents.
I like how they showed the movie from different perspectives, every coin has two sides, just like every story.
The acting was good, the cinematography as well, I enjoyed the movie and its idea, fighting our demons is never easy, not even for little children who seem to have no problems, that's not the case most of the time.
However, something was lacking for me, it's not the fact that the movie was slow at times, maybe it's because of some characters, with all the hype, maybe I expected a bit more, either way, it's a nice watch, it's just not for everybody.
A 7/10 from me ~

I don't understand, why does na gyeom help them clean up the mess? she even helps the doctor, why?
It's because she's obsessed with Jeong U and she wants him to go to prison, so everybody can hate him, be distant from him, including his friends and family, she wants him all for himself.
However, when she helped the others it wasn't stated that Jeong U would be framed as the murderer, so I don't know why or how she was hoping that would happen, but that's pretty much how the writer wanted to back up her reasoning for her actions.

There's something special about this drama for sure, but somehow I expected a bit more.
The first half was better, I think the time-skip was too big, there was no need for it to be 10+ years.
The relationship between Do Hee and Ju Yeong was portrayed very well, especially their awkwardness and excitement about love when they were teens.
Some things were a bit too dramatic and episode 7 was a mess, the person who was in charge of it... do your job better.
The actors did a very decent job and Ha Hyeon Ho was in fact a likeable character.
I can't pity Do Hee's father... I don't like how he was almost portrayed as a victim at times.
The idea that we can start over no matter what and at what age was a good one, it's never too late to find your path.
Overall, this was rather enjoyable, it was like a warm tea during a cold autumn day.

I stumbled upon a few videos of the drama and I got intrigued, seeing what it's based on, it all makes sense.
School 2013 is one of my all time favourite dramas for over 10 years, the chemistry between the leads there is superb! So if you're enjoying this version, I recommend you to check out the original as well!
I can't wait to start this next weekend when it will be almost done with the airing, because I'm sure the wait for the last two episodes would kill me xD

Person Jang Yeon Woo
He did a wonderful job in "Let Free the Curse of Taekwondo", in some scenes he really reminded me of Zee (Thai actor).
I hope he gets more roles and recognition!

Aaah, sadly I expected more of this drama! T^T
I watched the movie a few years ago and I loved the idea of it ~
Thankfully, here the story was explored better since it's a drama and not a movie.
The actors did a wonderful job, Kouhei was portrayed very well - his sadness, longing, hopefulness for more, Taichi's bubbly personality and loud voice were totally his character.
The story overall is good, the chasing and realizing of your dreams, the idea to fit in and that people with disabilities should be part of the community.
However, this could've stayed simply as a bromance drama and not a BL, there was chemistry between the leads, but on a friendly level and nothing more, that's why the ending felt rushed and not natural, at least to me. There was no need for romance, because the supposed feelings between Taichi and Kouhei were not the main point of the drama.
In most Japanese dramas, not only BLs, we get to see only the struggle of the mains to become a couple it happens and the drama ends, dating era is almost never shown.
The first half was better, I still enjoyed watching this, but I just wished for more to happen in the relationship between Kouhei and Taichi.
I recommend the drama "Silent", it's not a BL, but it's very similar, since one of the leads loses his hearing and the acting is amazing.

Aaah, I love these two so much!!! Their chemistry is unbelievable!
This spin-off did justice to the emotions, all the feelings, the tension, the longing, the curiousity, the love, the anger, the sadness, simply everything!
However, it didn't do justice to their story in general. I just need more and more.
Basically, I need a prequel to the prequel and a sequel to the sequel.
Their dynamic in ULS was a bit different, Donghee was more playful as a person, but I give it to age and growing up.
All 4 actors from ULS went on a trip this summer and it was aired as a show, they are still actively promoting the series, so this really gives me hope that maybe we'll get to see Donghee and Hotae again and I truly hope that their story will be properly explored, the actors are giving their all.
The movie was beautiful, I just needed a little bit more back story and I want to see the two sunshines in the future.

Kim Woo Bin's still got it! It's been a while since I last watched something with him, but what a great movie!
This had potential to become a drama, I would love to see Jeong Do and Sun Min as a team again and again.
I wish they (especially Jeong Do) relied more on the police though.
I'm sure there are criminals who repent and regret their actions, but the majority... they are probabaly just like they were shown in the movie, no remorse and hunger for the thrill of crimes.
A steady 8,5/10 from me ~

Title The On1y One Spoiler
After episode 9... a question about the teachers...
I haven't read the novel, so I'm totally in the dark, but I thought that Zhao Xi and Benny were a couple. Since they appeared together, opened the shop and started working at the school, the glances, the muffins, the coffee, I thought those were some hints.
But after episode 9, it looked like Zhao Xi stepped back, so Benny and Jenny could get together and he didn't want to get in the way.
Am I reading all of this wrong or...?

the actors did an "okay" job you said? bro
Compared to what I've seen in many other Japanese dramas.
They are not good actors by any means, there's lots of room for improvement.
