"I liked this. It's - as many people already said - similar to Chugakusei Nikki but also not. I think I actually prefer this version. CN is basically the vanilla version, what you'd expect from a Japanese TV drama. Highschool-vanilla-love, barely two kisses in the whole thing...but somehow true love that survives for years. Yeah sure, as if. "
Didn't finished Koi no Tsuki, still didn't watched Chugakusei (because I'm having difficulties getting the first episodes), didn't read your comment past the part quoted and I agree 100%! I have the impression that I know what to expect from Chugakusei, but I surely didn't expected what I'm seeing here in Koi no Tsuki! It's actually a very good story and drama, with real problems, real world problems. Sometimes I thought that I knew some cheap clichés that the script was telegraphing but I was actually wrong and was surprised. And they actually put effort on filming this, it's just beautiful!
There are age gaps and then there's a 40 year age chasm, like this. Yikes.
The original is a josei manga made by a woman, of course it's degenerate... Talking serious now, don't judge too early and without even knowing how it actually is. It may be about much more than just an age gap romance, take After the Rain as example.
LOL I had to laugh. I watched Marumaru Tsuma and wanted to see on what Kou is working this year and than that synopsis. If you watched Tsuma you know what made me laugh.
Higashi played it too camp for my taste. I just couldn't believe he was all that inspiring or special as a newscaster.
That's one of the worst parts, he was just a coward hypocrite and a very bad husband. Hard to say who is more delusional, if the character of the person who wrote his character.
I still need to watch the last episode, but can already say: don't recommend. The "themes" are interesting, but unfortunately this dorama has nothing good to say about them, worse, it just reinforces what's wrong about them. And the penultimate episode had a big and obvious "plot hole" that's impossible to not notice and annoyed me greatly.
Overall isn't a very good drama, and the performances a bit subpar.
About the "spoiler", isn't really a spoiler. If you don't get 90% of what the mystery is during the first minute you're pretty dense.
It amazes me that they found that one single bad child actress to play the young Otowa, because every single one child actor in this does a good job and it's the one blemishes in the drama. Very good, very well made. I would watch all over again immediately but first I must to muse about Kou Shibasaki watching her other works.
They did such a great job casting the child actors.
A good job except the one they chose for the young Otowa, EXCEPT that one. How they managed to find that atrocity when they also found so many good child actors?

"subs out"?
What to you mean by this? There's subtitles for this? WHERE?!
But, I'm near the end and I didn't expected "that"!
