Taking a wild guess I would say it is Bright as the Moon. It is a pity because if I remember correctly the novel…
Oh is that what that appalling performance was trying to copy?.? I couldn’t watch any of the Eternal Love, to me they were all cringe.

My friend was just staying at the same place Angelababy was doing a photo shoot and she saw her without makeup. She was shocked - her face is tiny and pimply. Must be from the many thick layers of makeup.

I watched her in the last two. And if you watched her in thousand years you would have saw how she bombed out in the second half. She is just an ok actress . It’s fine that you like her it doesn’t mean other people have to or can’t have different views or don’t know what they are talking about.

Thats your opinion but with all due respect to me, as charming as she is, Lusi is pretty much the same in everything. I have no problem with either her or JJY I am merely pointing out they are of similar limited range and they are both comedic in their own way.

JJY has a very limited range as an actress. I've finished 3 costume dramas from her and in all of them she has…
Taking a wild guess I would say it is Bright as the Moon. It is a pity because if I remember correctly the novel is amazing. But the actress bought the rights to it and cast herself as the lead and is no doubt interpreting it the way she thinks it ought to be... with disastrous consequences...

Actually they only filmed about half the novel. There is plenty more to go, which is why I still don't know if they ended up together I just binge read enough to know he didn't die...

I sense a "The Blooms in the Ruyi Pavilion" vibes in the FL , I can't dissociate one role from another, and that's…
That's very true - JJY and Zhao Lusi are the same - they default to their comfort zone characterisations that made them popular because they are too afraid to try something different and ruin their popularity. That said, this character is smart and she schemes her way out of situations she doesn't like, which is great. If you watched One and Only you will know what I mean when I say it is so nice to see a FL that doesn't just quietly accept her destiny.

I must say you must be the only person that can make me want to read about and LMAO about dramas I don't plan to watch. I did watch Mysterious Love for very shallow and superficial reasons and all I am going to say in its defense is I drooled off those last stubborn 3lbs that stood between me and my skinny jeans, something that hours of tennis in the sweltering summer heat did not do for me!!!

So I finished... the second half made me really mad. And I am cyber stalking Lin Gengxin while I frantically pour over the book to find out what happens next...

Super interesting article calling out what the Chinese censors really should but don't focus on instead of all the nonsense they are obsessed with. This actually surprised me because I hardly ever watch modern c-dramas, especially romantic ones. I think its especially troubling this kind of behavior is portrayed so casually in a modern context where you can't even hide behind the excuse they didn't know better or that was the way it used to be.

Yeah I am not a huge fan of gore for the sake of gore. They went a bit overboard here…
