I am not hooked.

Taking a break is not a bad thing and indeed there have been slim pickings. I have to spend Jan/Feb in the US next year so I got a lot of stuff to do before and I will be MIA for quite a long time.

It is quite cute I watched a few but abandoned it bc I am very busy this year. :(

23/24 at least we get some baby steps progress but still so many annoying people.

This drama is amazing. Every two episodes I have to reduce my rating by 0.5. At this rate, I will be at 0.0 before it finishes airing... I am a paying subscriber, I don't deserve to be bored to death with filler episodes like this. Tencent doesn't seem to understand that killing paying customers is not good for business. I want my money back.

The actress is so bad I didn't even laugh as hard as I normally would.

They don’t shoot in order and sometimes actors (usually not the leads) can shoot multiple dramas at once bc most of it is at Hengdian or another major production set where many projects are ongoing at the same time. They usually try to be as efficient with the leads time as possible (ie wrap their parts first) as part of negotiation with the leads studio.

Lead actor pay is now capped on an absolute basis and also on a per episode basis. As a result they just have an unwritten understanding that they are "paid" for 40 episodes but they only need to shoot about half as many and then they are wrapped and can leave the set to work on other productions. They fill the other episodes with dumb ass actors doing stupid things. Its not just Tencent everyone has started to do it.

Nah Tencent just needs 40 episodes to make money and they only have enough content for 24 episodes. So they are going to stuff us with 16 episodes of dumb, delusional 3rd rate actors to play the dumbest characters ever.

Because we don't already have enough super annoying, nasty and delusional characters, we really need one more. Thanks scriptwriters, you guys are just the...... there are no words...

In this case I think it was not deliberate - he/they thought her whole family was killed when the village was destroyed.

I think she lost her memory and either fell in love with the emperor or was grateful to him. It is also possible she married him because she was lost, unable to care for herself and already pregnant with Qing An. I hope not because that would be a disaster for the second couple. When her memory returned she couldn't face either man and so she disappeared. Possibly she is still alive.

I think you have to think of ZX and MR to be nuisance characters to drag out the story unnecessarily. Otherwise they can probably do this in 24-30 episodes but its hard to make money with that few. Just FF or skip their scenes.
