OMG she was so tragic she made me bawl. It wasn't a big role or a particularly memorable drama but I remembered her in it. Really changed my (not that good) perception of her from TBOY.

I only tried 1 episode of that and I am not sure if I will continue. Idk if Xu Kai is dubbing himself but his lines are not great and they don't match his lip movement. Zhou Ye sounds like she is dubbing herself and at least her lines are clear I don't need to read the Chinese subs to understand her. Also they know each other already with no buildup of how that happened. I will ty a few more episodes this weekend but its not promising IMO.

I have the exact same issue with how in one of the dynasties that most strictly segregated men from women this was possible. Even Qian Shaoze and Jiugao had to cross dress and go to great lengths to infiltrate the women's quarters. The elders in the Lin family are on to the Dus but they have not upped their vigilance sufficiently IMO.

Yeah Yang Yang I don't mind so much bc he can actually do great fight scenes. But its so beyond stupid to keep casting Gong Jun of all people! The guy is a one hit wonder. In everything else he just stands around like a vase that smirks - can't fight, can't speak his own lines. SMH.

Ms Du should have no authority over the outer mansion maids who should escort him in to visit her and stay with him till he exits. I think it’s just plot convenience - even Ms Du is also fully escorted every time she approaches Jinqi in his quarters. And he quite rudely rebuffed her bold and inappropriate attempt to play Go with her bc that may have accidentally led to alone time with her in his quarters.

She would be a terrible influence on his child!
