Its probably a small part and GJM somehow has enough juice to get this stuff through. In MJTY there was also another supporting actor involved in a sexual assault case and that didn't stop the drama from airing - apparently there were some edits made but he was in quite a few episodes.

I liked Ji Ling as well but his the character lacks complexity (for good reason). I think Chi Wen is a more complete character and probably matches Wuyi better in complexity.

Yes indeed that is what was interesting about it. But we are now at the point where both couples know the stakes are not real or consequential so it no longer means that much whether they "sacrifice" or "betray" each other. That is why I feel the arc needs to end soon.
I think it's dizhu. But Dz and MM's timeline is still a mystery. Maybe we will know in the next one.
I suspect Wuyi could be Di Zhu bc when Shiguang was telling the story of the Aodeng tribe to Wangyan, Wangyan mentioned that like Di Zhu, her sister Wuyi loves to dance.
