2. This part was not consistent. At first it seemed like a lie and then it seemed like the truth and the Japanese faked his identity. I think the latter is true.

I don't think KJP is Kunwu or if he is, he is a double or triple agent. I think the real Kunwu is most likely long dead. The Changsha attack plan is clearly false. In history, the Japanese flanked from the east via Jiangxi. But the plan HS deciphered reveals they mean to flank from the West. So its fake intelligence. If it were real intelligence, Kunwu's job is to retrieve it at all costs. Since its fake, Kunwu's job is to make the Chinese believe it is real at all costs.

I agree with you, there was something funky in the dialogue. Initially it shows HS lied to LH about his father to get him to give him the cipher. Then when he talks to Wu it seems it was based on the CPC's intelligence. Its definitely a small bug.

At the church, Ling Han shot KJP. KJP slumped down as if he was dead. It was really cheating bc I spent so much time rewatching who may not have really died. But Liu Huan (KJP) said KJP is not Kunwu. Who is the real liar?

Well technically that is true. He faked his death to Ling Han and came back from the dead.

I don't think he is Kunwu. He is faking it. Kunwu is an empty chair, he died long ago. And spoiler tag please, not everyone watched tonights episode yet.

After ZGL arc there is no real reason to stick around. I just really like Tan Jianci and Xiao Shunyao so I finished it but took a few months.

I am just grateful Zhang Haowei's scandal didn't stop this from airing. Hoping for TV broadcast would be beyond unrealistic.

It was shot 5 years ago before the 40 episode limit. I guess they must have cut it down to 12 to pass review or air at one go. This is not the kind of story that would do well with a 12 month break in between.

I think if he does, it has to be Assistant Wu. They look very similar, enough to be twins.

It seems to me the cut episodes were mostly in the beginning. I think both Boss Bai and Hongqi and his backstory were cut short bc they should have bigger arcs, esp Boss Bai. For this kind of story you can't cut things out toward the end bc you are building to the final reveal. You can only chop the early arcs which should be misdirects.

I suspect there was another sub-plot that is related to him and his backstory. But I think that arc was part of the cut 12 episodes. They probably meant to build him up as a Kunwu suspect before overturning it.

Yes I agree Xu Bi's actions in the latest episode are very suspicious. But he could just be another Japanese mole in the NBIS.
