🤣🤣🤣Is there other wuxia drama that's airing this month? I have nothing to watch am just forcing myself…
Ep 30 only airs tonight for non-Express viewers. So I think the next chapter will start Sunday if it follows the regular schedule.

I completely agree with the pacing thing. It's way to fast. As for actor, Yang Xuwen did a very good interpretation…
I like Ci Sha but I don't like his Guo Jing. I think its not consistent. He oftentimes comes across as very intelligent and complex and then he turns dumb and simple. Its like bipolar Guo Jing.

I don't think the MDL airing calendar is correct. The official calendar shows that ep 29 and 30 air today and…
What I understand is Tencent licensed them as individual dramas and not sequels of each other. If it is like LYF it will take 5 years to complete airing!!!🤦🏻‍♀️

Are you watching many drama together?
lol or maybe I am just not enjoying it bc I just don’t like the characters and Li Rong in particular! It’s a good thought but i suspect focusing on her exclusively will make me like this LESS not more.

Ty for the short review. Sorry to hear this was a let down. Was thinking of asking my folks to watch this but now I think probably not.

More time to build up the hype if it takes longer to air 🙃 But I am really looking forward to this one.
Yes well I am looking forward to LYF2 and I was hoping iQiyi may air Strange Tales but it looks like they may go with another Fox Spirit and I think Youku will do Dashing Youth.

No I am not at all. This and The Legend of Heroes is pretty much the only thing I have on my watch list.

Its high season bc school holidays in China begin July 8. It is possible to even get 2 dramas per platform. So no need to watch dramas you are not enjoying bc a lot of things will drop in the next few days.

Heheh I used to do that too. That's how HK taxi drivers used to ask if I am from Singapore or Malaysia!

I am guessing Sunday.
The golden age of wuxia was from the 1960s to the 1980s. China barely even had a film industry then. All the great wuxia writers were from HK, Taiwan and even Malaysia. China was never a part of it and as hard as they try to make Jin Yong's work more "Chinese" they never quite succeed. Part of it is because wulin or jianghu is always anti-establishment. China always dumbs that part down bc they are very authoritarian and not that comfortable with the rebellious undertones to it.

The end of 14 and the whole of 15 were my favorite parts tbh.
Yeah I am putting it on hold for now. Sometimes if I wait a few days and continue its easier to push through.

Jackson is from Hunan his Mandarin also has strong Canto tones that he can't get rid of. It takes years. Most Chinese who like old/ancient Chinese love Canto and try to speak it. Many of my mainland friends who live here try to learn.

The thing is wuxia is a genre that largely grew out of the Chinese diaspora. The mainlanders loved it but I don't think they ever really understood it bc during its heyday the books were all banned in China and had to be smuggled in.
