I think its the best casting for this adaptation.
Yeah but her acting is pretty good. The most disappointing for me so far is Yang Kang. No nuance and no charisma. Just plain evil in a sleazy way. But I kind of knew it I didn't like his acting in LYF either.

I think its the best casting for this adaptation.
As usual Huang Rong is MIA. No spirit and not wicked enough. I think they skip around a lot, I wonder if it will be hard for people who don't know the story to follow.

There are several editions of LOCH bc Jin Yong rewrote and moved things around at least 2 times. I dropped all of the Mandarin adaptations partway through so you have watched more versions than I have. I just read the book too many times to remember but it is not my favorite Jin Yong novel. Huang Rong, Qiao Feng, Yang Kang and Linghu Chong are my my favorite Jin Yong characters. I never felt Guo Jing deserved Huang Rong and in the latter chapters he dragged them all to spend 30 years fighting a lost and unworthy cause bc he was just not smart. I really resented him for that.
