Then the nonsensical whole Japanese shrine scandal was clearly someone trying to do ZZH in permanently but I don't think he is exactly officially banned either. The real issue IMO is Zhao Wei and her husband are in deep shit for corruption scandal with the Zhejiang local government and Alibaba. They will never be able to come back and ZZH now has no agency and no one will back him again bc they are not sure whether his dramas will ever pass censorship. I think after the success of The Double, if Yu Zheng wants to he can still push Zhao Ge out and arguably he won't be benefitting Zhao Wei or ZZH bc at this point they are done. But who knows whether he will want to do it. It ultimately boils down to how much he backs WJY. In recent years he has clearly supported Bai Lu over WJY and at 33 she is kind of on her way to aging out anyway so I don't put high hopes on it.
