Guan Yu is pretty good. He actually guessed mostly how it went down and that Chen Xiaoming actually shot Yan Hongqiao but didn't know who else was there. If that crazy killer didn't kill the guard, no one would have been the wiser that there were more people involved.

Yes Feng Gen is an idiot, so mom would have planned it all. I think Chen Xiaoming was forced to jump bc someone had a gun on Yang Xuesong. And Yang Xuesong was used to blackmail Yang Si into confessing and taking the fall. But its so messy. I would have just left it as Chen Xiaoming killed her lover in a crime of passion and then in remorse jumped. Why even involve Yang Si and Yang Xuesong? The only reason I can think of is to expose Wang Ping and Liang Xin's involvement, thus clearing the way for Feng Gen and his mom to get everything in the end.

It definitely looks like Wang Ping is pulling all the strings. I just don't know why she made it so messy and involved so many parties. She could have just had Lin Xiang stage the murder/suicide and closed all the loose ends instead of risking exposure by involving so many incompetent parties. I think there still could be another reversal, which is Yan Hongmei and Feng Gen are the real masterminds. After all they get everything if they don't actually do all the killings. Feng Gen just bought the gun and put everything in play by giving the girl to his uncle.
He had a really long reign. He was good in the beginning but lost it at the end, esp after Yang Guifei's death. Chen Kaige's movie Demon Cat is about them.
Lol - it is a long day indeed! Cao Dun just couldn't resist the history lessons. The emperor of course was Tang Mingwang and his consort is Yang Guifei. They steered clear of a direct reference to that of course.
