What I love about ZRY is he chooses great scripts and he doesn't hog all the screen time. He is really giving the young actors who are the real stars room to shine in this story. I think the writer means to give LTG a redemption arc so I doubt he will do something so beyond redemption.

Even if Liudao Tang all ended up being loyal to the core, something is rotten in the state of Wu or else as foolish as he is, the emperor won't end up a hostage of An. Given how hard he fought with Danyang wang for the throne, it makes zero sense to me why he went trotting off to war like that unless he was baited with wrong intelligence. And he doesn''t strike me as entirely stupid - he picked up Ying's cues and he knew not to write any edicts until he was properly rescued so he has at least 2 or 3 brain cells.
