I have mixed thoughts on today’s eps. The highlights are few and they’re YY(very consistently good), the bros…
Yeah I don't love how Ruyi has turned to crying all the time and NYZ has clearly taken over as the main protagonist. They always do this in c-dramas so I kind of expect it. I also agree they zipped through the plot too quickly. Its clear the writer doesn't like to write about plot, she only likes to dwell on characters. I don't mind that but its got to be a bit more balanced.

Title A Journey to Love Spoiler
Kill a prince for the petty revenge of appeasing an already dead empress and set the entire kingdom on high alert…
Yes I agree that destabilizing An is a big part of the agenda but it was not supposed to be the main mission, which was to redeem Wu di. And if NYZ simply went rogue and decided the guy is not worth saving, it is fine. But he intends to bust the idiot out of prison anyway and the teams chances are 30pct with the extra security. I just think they let a lesser agenda hijack the main purpose and it may cost them all their lives. Not worth it.

An di's best interest is to keep Wu di and keep the ransom. I am pretty sure he means to do both. This was a diplomatic suicide mission.

Buying horses meant giving money to the passive enemy at your border. Money that will be used to buy weapons and…
Well its not her place to intervene in military affairs. And horses back in the day were critical towards winning wars. Sometimes its a matter of what is the greater need and right or wrong, that is not her call. It is bat shit crazy to suicide over that - what does that achieve?

I really don't like the empress story line and everything that is related to her.She was stupid and overly dramatic.she…
Agree completely. She seemed just a bitter woman who goes scorched earth when thwarted. No last words for her own kid, as treacherous as he is. And she poisoned the well by telling Ruyi men are unreliable just use them as baby machines. Ridiculous woman.

Forgot about him. Didn't realize that he actually has a conscience and was conflicted even though he also didn't…
He is a typical despot. He rules by fear. And tbh a prince did get assassinated. He is just sending a very strong message that everyone best be on their toes. And its working, they upped security dramatically around Empreror Wu.

I know RuYi feel like she doesn't have to listen to The Empress last words anymore, But I still want the baby…
I think the Empress did some really shady things. I can't believe she had no remaining affection for her son. That doesn't add up.

Title Derailment
The Heart of Genius is pretty good. It is never going to be that logical bc to our knowledge, parallel universes…
I think the ending is quite clear but you may not like it. I was fine with it but there was some criticism. Give it a try.

Yeah that was so smart:
Kill a prince for the petty revenge of appeasing an already dead empress and set the entire kingdom on high alert before you rescue the emperor!!!
Oh... but that's right... no one really wants to rescue the guy anyway!

Title Derailment
don't have much faith on dramas tagged with parallel universe. So far, I hvn't come across any good c or K drama…
The Heart of Genius is pretty good. It is never going to be that logical bc to our knowledge, parallel universes don't exist.

Thx I enjoyed reading this. I love this CP but I realized Mo Bao Fei Bao's novel adaptations just don't work for me. There is too little plot and too much character focus. I just hope this does well enough they put these two together again in a costume drama.

It is a totally gila kind of obsession. I give the writer top marks for uniqueness and bottom marks for making…
Yeah they spent a lot of time on the character stories while they kind of put the plot on hold and indulged in a lot of jokes, unncessary LTG melodrama and Ruyi running off to do her own revenge thing only to be rescued by YZ. When the plot should have continued to advance at the same time. Parallel World did pretty much the same thing and then there wasn't enough time at the end to tell the story properly. We are pass the halfway point we really need to start moving in the next episodes. Douban has now gone down to 7.2. That's a big drop from the open rating in a very short time.
