I think she is afraid to test the potential of great love bc it looks like its coming in the form that could conflict with her pledge to CX. Interestingly I think CX is similarly restrained by their oath. I do think Jing has made promises he can't keep to XY and that has hurt her but I think she is also realistic enough to know not many men in this world will agree to her demands. CX and XL certainly would not. But then they'd probably not be naive enough/ too cynical to make such grand promises they can't keep. CX in particular would word it in such a way that he has wiggle room.

I think its kind of really just meant to be a light hearted story like NLB. The difference is NLB had an ensemble cast whereas this is mostly about the main couple. I like the main couple here a lot better than NLB bc Tian Xiwei gives me the creeps. But I think there are better surrounding characters in NLB that are more comical than the ones here.
