Douban 8.0, which is good.

I am LMAO - the homonyms are so cheesy they remind me of some of the old Stephen Chow slapstick Canto movie kind of humor. But this kind of stuff doesn't really translate so I am not surprised its not a huge hit. The comedic timing is a bit flat though and I think the camera angle on the people shots is just bad.
Plot wise, I think too many people either switching or playing both sides its a bit confusing and I detected faint traces of propaganda with the whole 华夏 discussion but I guess that can be expected.

I am enjoying it but I think you'd best start with S1.

Ep 8 is just killing me. First the funny homonyms and then the upriver peeing competition between Yanei and Sigui .... I almost choked! 豈有此你/ Outrageous Wang Juan!

There is a weird cut of ep 1 that popped up on my YouTube that I didn’t like. But the one I ended up watching had a recap and seemed fine. I liked the first arc a lot and how Wang Juan weaved the Tangut culture and history into the plot. I am still at ep 5 or 6 and still trying to figure out what this bloodline stuff is building up to. I think Wang Juan’s humor really works for both of us so it goes without saying I am cracking up at the dialogue in the dialogue in addition to the comedy. It’s so nice to see his work again I thought I’d have to wait till JOL2 in 2024 or 2025! But no way will I be able to catch up fast enough to do the fast track this is definitely slow track for me.

That is even worse IMHO. If he can't recover, they should just let him die.

Well I think the distinction marks an important inflection point for his relationship with LLH. It shows the moment he wormed his way into LLH's heart.
