Although she is doing a good job making people hate her character, her interpretation of the role is pedestrian, shallow and one dimensional. She doesn't bring any fresh or new personal characterization to this kind of tropey character. The way she is written I should feel a little bit sorry for her - she is orphaned bc her father died to save the universe and was in love with MY for ages and had a real expectation of marrying him- but I don't feel any empathy for her bc she can't tease out that aspect of the character. So it is not bad writing it is actually bad acting. She pulls off the role in a way dozens of other forgettable actresses have done many times before. Maybe I am being a bit unfair but consider what Luo Yunxi by comparison is bringing to his role of another villain character. I guess it is a tough act to follow but she follows with a total fail kind of portrayal.

I wouldn't go as far as to say plagiarize but there are some scenes from this drama that have noticeably been inspired by other hit dramas. I think the scene of MY sleeping in the bed while SJ is sleeping at the table and all the rest that follows also bears a strong resemblance to TMOPB Susu and Ye Hua's scenes. But this happens a lot in Chinese dramas, this is not the only production that has done this kind of stuff. Heck Who Rules The World plagiarized entire arcs including plot lines and dialogue from Royal Nirvana and got away with it. Relative to that, this is not that bad and that is why I use the word inspired rather than plagiarized.
Everyone keeps saying San Jiu is going to smack Tian Huan into wishing she was never even a twinkle in her father's eye. And yes that will be very satisfying but still... still... someone please tell me that Ming Ye also unleashes on her bc I somehow think that is going to hurt the bitch a lot more.
