I think when they file a drama as a historical drama, they are supposed to stick closely with history, especially when it comes to main figures and events. This one should follow fairly closely bc for example they use the official period name etc. When they take more liberties with history they tend to change the name of the emperor or the main figures and often even the kingdom and/or dynasty. I didn't watch Royal Feast so idk how they approached that.
