if historically Prince Yan succeeded in his revolting, then my guess everyone against or in previous dynasty will…
Yeah its hard to know the entire Chinese history its so long and so much of it is controversial or they are still learning things about it anyway. But of course many of the Chinese viewers learned the history at school so they get pretty worked up when they feel it deviated too much. I only read parts of it from interest so some bits I know fairly well and others I don't.

Those 2 episodes had a few too many twists and were pretty bloody but this was one of very bloody periods of Chinese…
Lu Yulin’s first priority is Lu Zheng. He just wants to save him above anything else. In the beginning he was probably 100pct for the cause but that changed after he adopted and loved Lu Zheng.

If you watched BOB it’s nowhere near as bad as that! Enjoy!

Watched up to 18 but after reading the comments about eps 21 & 22, I’m not sure if I want to continue 😮
Those 2 episodes had a few too many twists and were pretty bloody but this was one of very bloody periods of Chinese history so that is kind of to be expected. You could just wait to see if the ending tonight wraps well or not.

I dropped that after the first arc bc I remember it was panned widely in China for being riddled with historical inaccuracies.

You can see Li Wu is a scheming fellow he already paved the way by “accidentally” letting Boss Shen’s money leave the capital to fund Prince Yan’s war and he has saved Boss Shen. Lu Yulin also sacrificed to save Lu Zheng by revealing himself to be loyal to Prince Yan. So our boys bets are hedged both ways now.

Well if I remember correctly Yonghe purged the court viciously including scholars, ministers and bureaucrats that did not pledge loyalty to him. He sentenced them to death by a thousand cuts to 9 generations of kinship. I don’t remember that the Jinyiwei suffered particularly badly when it would have been easy and probably safest for him to just replace them with his trusted Yebushou. And in the drama they are showing it differently so maybe there is hope they survive.

The highest levels of Jinyiwei from the Commander, his deputy and of course the real Li Dongfang all turned against the Jianwen emperor before he even ascended the throne. They held the Yuming Lock away from him all these years knowing it could have helped him keep a hold on the throne against Prince Yan.

That is not how this dram has chosen to present it however.

And in any case the protagonists in the movies are all apolitical. They are loyal to the brotherhood before the king and country. That is what the entire brotherhood of the blades IP is about.

Of course but I am referring to the institution and not individuals.

Yeah, Bai Lu's voice dubber is not always in sync with her lip movement, especially in the first two episodes.…
Yeah I am really baffled by that decision as well.

Half way through the first episode and ..... I feel like the dubbing is crap? or is it just me?The cgi is awesome…
Yeah, Bai Lu's voice dubber is not always in sync with her lip movement, especially in the first two episodes. I don't like her voice actor, she is off in the emotional scenes. Unfortunately only Luo Yunxi among the main cast is dubbing himself.

Jinyiwei protect the emperor. They don't care who he is. So whoever sits on the throne is their master.

It also took me 3 tries to watch the first episode. I didn't really like Bai Lu's acting in that episode. But…
I didn't read the novel and I am not a huge fan of xianxias bc of the angst and the excessively bright CGI. But so far, after struggling with ep 1, I am alright with this. I love dark characters.

That is a great movie. But yeah that is a very good question. But also a scary one.
Yes... keen to see what Su Su decides is the right thing to do.

Yeah these Chinese directors do wierd things when they try too hard to win these funky foreign art film awards.
