I think this adaptation was from one of Zhanán's novels, which focus on normal people and not ruling families. Sounds good but dark.

Yeah the FL in Lady Butcher is off putting initially even though she gets a lot better after the first few. I enjoyed ADOS a lot but the humor missed me. The only other recent girl power story that is pretty good. is Somg of Youth.

If you like this kind of finding humor in the mundane type of stories Lady in Butcher’s House is very similar and very funny as well with strong feminist theme.

It is common for sons of consorts to be adopted by the Empress and raised as her own. They are often separated from their birth mothers and rarely get to see them. This is especially true if the Empress has no biological sons of her own. I believe Emperor Renzong of Song was not even allowed to visit his birth mother on her deathbed. What is a bit strange about this one is that the 11th prince is raised by his birth mother. In any case, it is not politically smart for him to appear to be close or overly affectionate with his birth mom. He is supposed to be filial to the Empress first, ahead of his birth mother, especially since this emperor has so many sons.

Yeah the lines actually aren't that original but the delivery is good.
