😂penis head bug eater!!! I actually love the actor he does the best villains. He was shockingly good in 2020…
Ziyi in the book wasn't that likeable although I always felt sorry for her. It was like she was on a path that was doomed from the day she was born bc of what her dad did. I always thought she was the prototype for Qiao Feng who was one of my favorite but tragic Jin Yong characters. I suspect they may have transferred some of her less likeable traits to her shifu in this adaptation.

Ahhh... yes, he was that scary monk as well. He does such great fight scenes. I hope they make him fight here. I really loved his deadly claw spear fighting in Heroes.

And yes but I didn't like Feng Tiannan actor's version of Xie Xun, my favorite Xie Xun is always Tsang Kong.

Yes of course they do which I am glad but I think Jin Yong described her like that bc she was already a sickly orphan when her shifu adopted her.

Maybe... or maybe she was just a nun-entity...

I think she was always sick or malnourished but I don’t remember if she was dying. That is why her appearance is supposed to be very unattractive- sallow skinned with thinning hair.

Now I am really curious - does anyone remember the nun from the novel? I remember I didn’t like her bc of Ziyi’s stupid vow and the requirement to save her father 3x but other than that nothing else.

I am also disappointed with the nun. I don’t remember her having such a big part or being aligned with the Qing nobles in the novel but there are so many characters that I may just have forgotten about her.

😅 I d avoid Royal Nirvana then. Nowadays they use more vernacular language anyway idk why they did that with that one.

Oh you mean the Classical Chinese? Yes I guess there was some of that, esp wrt the political philosophy? That is always more difficult. Even though I was fine with Longest Day I struggled with Royal Nirvana. That one is super dense. I'd rather get a root canal than to try to translate that one.

I am not up to this part of the drama yet but when the case broke, I did read about it and was shocked and enraged at the friend's conduct. While I am not a legal expert, I believe in the US, criminal liability can be attached to someone for depraved indifference to human life. That would come closest to the way China judged the case. Justice IMHO was still not served but at least a point was made that as members of a moral society, Chinese citizens cannot behave with such reckless and wanton indifference to human life.

If acting doesn't work out he can be a model for romance cover novels.

I don't mind even in historical dramas when the accents are correct. Like in Longest Day Jackson Yee played a nobleman from an elite family but he speaks with a Southern accent and Lei Jiayin plays a humble soldier but speaks with a very high class Beijing accent. That was just strange.

Title Are You Safe
I just hope when the reveal comes, it was CM all the time, sending ZY code sequences, and not some bad guy setting…
He Lei’s best role was as Ning Cheng in TROP. He was absolutely adorable and hilarious. Idk what happened to him he has just been forgettable in everything else since.

So far so good, better than I thought. Detective Di's disciple teams up with a general to solve cases with a supernatural flavour.
