He is only ~18 years old, still quite naive. Qin Junjie is a bit mature to be playing him so he doesn't come across as super young.

Yeah but I just thought his love interest was unnecessarily wicked. Like Huang Rong had a dark side which I love but she has a bottom line. Whereas Ren Yingying kill people for no good reason. I just never understood what he saw in her.

Yeah it could be that he also knew in the book bc its not something they need to change. I read it too long ago. All I vividly remember is both Shang Baozhen and Xu Zheng loved her but she kind of just buried them next to each other in unmarked graves and rushed to Fu Kangan's side. Her selfish and indifferent behavior shocked Hu Fei.

Side Story of Fox Volant is very, very good if you like wuxia and epic fight scenes. Its on WeTV. And iQiyi is dropping Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty which should be pretty good as well. But nothing in the hot chest department unfortunately those don't come along every day of the week.

I used to love wandering around the hutongs in Beijing. Its such a shame many of them are gone now. Can't wait to watch this.

I didn't watch that but I don't mind sad endings either as long as they make sense. But JY in general is very cruel to his best heroes. If you think about it Guo Jing is a dunce, Yang Guo has strange tomb fetish and Wuji was a horrible leader and indecisive as hell. But they all got HEs. Everyone else from Qiao Feng and Linghu Chong (who are my personal favorites) got really thrown under the bus by their creator.

😅​😂😂​ It is very popular in works of fiction to write about all these illegitimate offspring and baby swap at birth, fake eunuchs siring the heir to the throne etc. It is hard to blame these writers when even the great historian Sima Qian is guilty of this, openly speculating that Qin Shihuangdi is actually Lv Buwei's son.

Happy Endings. The most popular Jin Yong stories are obviously the LOCH trilogy which all had pretty happy endings. All the rest had amazing heroes like Qiao Feng, Chen Jialuo, Hu Fei, Linghu Chong etc but they are not so popular bc of the way they end.

Not a fan of his. Never was never will be.
