The Hidden Fox which is on iQiyi is the latest remake of it. It’s usually a movie bc it’s so short. It is a controversial remake bc they changed a lot of it. I suspect this drama version merges it into this and gets rid of the third love line.

I think they are writing the Miao Ruolan love line out of this drama version bc she is only supposed to be 12 or 13 years younger not 18.

Yeah she is more empathetic here. I also thought Tian Gui Nong seduced her bc he is after her father’s treasure map which is hidden in her hairpin but they seem to be skipping that.

Yes recent China adaptations have in general whitewashed many jin Yong characters. I don’t always like it when they do that but in this case so far I am fine with it.

No the sequel was written first and it is his shortest story, only 10 chapters. Basically Hu Fei falls for the daughter of his sworn enemy. It is one of my favorites. The prequel which is this story was written later on.

She is already a nun or already made a vow to her master who raised her she will be a nun. It is the nun she was talking too in Feng mansion the night Hu Fei was drugged. And yes the ending is why this is one of the less popular Jin Yong novels. Hu Fei is meant to go on to meet Miao Ruolan and fall for her in the sequel.

YZY goes off to become a nun. She actually is already sworn to be a nun and eventually takeover her master's role.

She leaves Miao Renfeng for Tian Guinong. They never get back together again. She dies of loneliness and regret. As for what happens to MRF nobody knows. His story in the sequel ends in an epic cliffhanger. The drama though could head in a different direction.

😂😂😂 - the doctor is not rich enough. The drama tries to make it more balanced but in the novel she is a spoilt pampered rich girl who just longed to live a luxurious life.

I was literally cheering when he walked off with his kid and no one dared stop him. I thought they would go a different direction with Nan Lan but looks like they are sticking to the novel. That doesn't bode that well for the ending.
