It all comes down to price and exclusivity periods. TLB was also produced by Huace but not under their Croton studio. It was sold to Tencent who also had international rights that were exclusive for a period. WRTW is a Tencent Penguin Picture production. My guess is Tencent doesn’t have enough North America subscribers to mind selling those WRTW rights to Netflix since their own studio benefits from it. It is not available on Netflix Asia bc Netflix Asia competes directly with Tencent Video. Netflix probably passed on TBW for now but it’s popularity in China could change that.

I don't think it is so much the history but the plot complexity. I usually save it to watch before I start the next episode rather than after the previous episode.

That's so funny bc it is the guy that I really don't like every time I drop it is bc of him. I will admit I am lukewarm about Lusi she is a hit or miss for me but I found her pretty funny in Tiger and Rose and I really like her in this.

I still think Chunxi emperor or Lanxi could be the final villain. I mean YWY is gonna die young... I also don't think there are any villains in this. It is just a fight for the throne. Everyone has a claim and he who can hold on to it should prevail.

Seriously though, I was taken aback bc Chang'an and Luoyang went for high octane start and this didn't and yeah I am kind of low key disappointed they didn't open with a gory Ma Su decapitation scene but so far I am kinda loving it even though I can't work and watch so I am gonna be behind.
