FL is just out of college, assuming her age is 21..I can empathize with the break down she had based on how much she had been holding back throughout the college and how her image was smeared by her dorm-mates with ulterior motives..and I didn't say FL is mature or immature..also short skirt or fully covered in clothes doesn't define maturity /character, Noone girl or guy or gender should be judged based on that..I said the Drama is handling it in mature ways meaning the leads are going slow , giving each other space and safety ,and getting to know one another than actually basing relationship on attraction alone.. and you will notice I have put breakup in quotation marks, meaning there was no real breakup, but it was felt like a break up by FL because of the emotions she invested in the story she created in her mind of her relationship with SML(it actually happens in real life too..Mathew Hussey has actually made a vedio on this, on how to overcome feeling of breakup when one has never really dated a person) also Gaslighting means making someone question their sense of reality..apart from Rong , I don't see any other character doing this. hope this helps
Very slow. There is no story. Couldn’t identify one till ep13. Also what’s with grown women and concept of…
she is not being chased by men...the ML is pursuing her and she has communicated to him that she is healing from a "breakup" and wants time..i find this much mature than most c-dramas..like getting to know each other slowly than labelling it a relationship based on intensity.. (This is my POV based on my interpretation of drama episodes so far)
why was ZX always silent around Rong and NXG? was he forced or something by Rong's family? did I miss some detail..like even when he asked NXG "if she'll come back" and she said "yes", it looked like he knew the girl he wanted to pursue..but did not say so openly..if he had said it openly FL wouldnt have had to suffer so much and later him..he seems a decent guy in every other aspect
The villains weren’t cartoon evil. You know the writing is good when it got you feeling sorry for the king for…
True..this drama accurately showed the thin line between what is considered morally good and evil..XHA letting go off YFS despite his sister being killed by him necause he didn't want to become the same tyrant was what made XHA morally right.. Yes..lots of introspective points in the drama..
If you don't watch the special then Huai'an blew himself up to kill the enemy. Was that even necessary? Don't…
I do think XHA blowing himself up with the enemies was unnecessary..except for the dialogues he said and how he is also Huben member and Huben is actually his father's legacy.. but the scenes regarding Teimo king's rise is underdeveloped..they showed an intelligent and ruthless boy and his 2 friends...then a time gap where he was already their King...only shown was that He and Grand Perceptor was ruthless and cunning and intelligent..and considering their intelligence it wouldnt be hard for them to learn and rise in few years and make a name for themselves.. and Wenjing was just young boy too at that time..their appointment was by his father.. (these are just my POV and interpretations of how I watched the drama)
this drama feels like a tribute to unsung heroes , the spies and shadow guards working tirelessly behind the scenes to protect the nation from forces working against the country (here Chang'an) both from within (here it was YFS) and outside (the Teimo king in the drama).. this drama gave a realistic depiction of the intelligence , the sacrifices of unknown, uncelebrated heroes..their coordinated efforts and how fragile and precious peace is and the cost of it.
mindblown🔥🔥 this drama had everything..intelligent plot, emotions, conflicts, deafeat and win and BEST CLIMAX and everything was realist..acting from entir team was top-notch..bgm ost were superb.. is there a way to rate 100/10..I feel even that is less
after being under YFS for so many years, how did he believe this Teimo King who is even more ruthless?? After finding XWY both could have run, reunited with XHA. Come on, knowing XWY's skills , that was a shitty choice no matter what the reason, especially from XWJ..unless he got egoistic and felt incompetent around so many people contributing to Chang'an while he is useless
the final rating of this drama will determine by the % of the cast killed by the end 😅
there are lot of downvoters...Douban recently reported there was coordinated downvoting for this drama on their site.. so not bothered about ratings as of now..let haters hate..there are many who are genuinely enjoying this and engaging in healthy discussion about this
the fellow was right "XHA looks gentle and refined..but what he says can chill anyone to bone".. last few episodes XHA was mourning and cleared his head and came back smarter and stronger..lets hope this continues..though there are many deaths throughout this villian's death was the best..he was a beast as said by Mr.Sha..I felt bad for Wang Pu as he was forced by his circumstances..but this guy chose this route..also Cheng Yi's expressions🔥🔥🔥
i think as the plot has been through XHA's lens throughout , in first part we were all as invested as XHA in revenge…
another point I would like to add to the discussion here is XHA said to GuYu something like "he is ready to lose Chang'an, but he is not ready to see Chang'an lose Gu Yu"..i guess he wanted to avenge his father and let the other take care of political and military stuff..but he didnt ever imagine losing Gu Yu.. I still feel he had an idea of Teimo people planning something as that has always been an ongoing thing between Chang'an and Teimo and he had some suspicions while buying the bitter root..only he assumed all that would be handled by XWY and GY, and he now has to handle it himself
this is dealt with in episode 19, if I remember we'll.this is dealt with in episode 19, if I remember well.
everyone processes grief differently..and Zhang Mo's father initially wanted to kill him..here in plot they showed forgivessness and altruism from Zhang Mo's side..different characters have shown different emotions and lessons throughout the plot..
and you will notice I have put breakup in quotation marks, meaning there was no real breakup, but it was felt like a break up by FL because of the emotions she invested in the story she created in her mind of her relationship with SML(it actually happens in real life too..Mathew Hussey has actually made a vedio on this, on how to overcome feeling of breakup when one has never really dated a person)
