Yes, I also was in a dip for awhile after the show. But I didn't regret seeing it one bit. This is one of those dramas that gives you a bittersweet feeling and will linger on for years to come. I think I'll be rewarding it soon. Hahaha

The FL sacrificed herself to save the ML, SML and others from dead. As a result, she became comatose. Initially the ML was still hopeful, took care of her, told her stories and travelled around the country with her. While reminiscing their time together when she was still awake. But in the end, realising that she probably will never wake up again made him depressed. And he was also worried that when he grows older and dies who will look after her. So he brought her to a cliff (tears were flowing from his eyes) and the episode ended there with flashbacks. It's kind of an open ending but it seemed like he was about to jump off the cliff together with her.

The SML made that up to protect the FL. The emperor (under the control of DS) wanted the FL to return to the Palace to become the new diviner. So to prevent this, SML made up the story that FL is pregnant with his child.
