Sigh! I just read a Twitter post that shows deleted scenes from upcoming episodes. I've posted about this before,…
@magnolia cream Sorry but I don't consider kissing as a raunchy thing...kissing your beloved/partner is a beautiful thing, it's a mark of affection, passion and trust imo (that's love❤️) There was nothing vulgar in those scenes (the deleted ones) Emperor forcing himself on BYL in episode 22 on the contrary was disgusting and they didn't delete it...
"Dylan has proven himself to be a good actor who can attract viewers without resorting to such tactics. His gaze alone can melt viewers' hearts. The drama has a compelling plot with a swoon-worthy romance "
I fully agree with this statement but I wouldn't mind if there was more passion shown in their lovestory (meaning kissing, not asking for a full make-out session here) Call me shallow but those scenes help build the chemistry and are making most viewers giddy and full of anticipation for the episodes (making it more popular in the process)
And I agree with @mizukilla , some deleted key scenes (like the reveal of him not being an eunuch) have disrupted the flow and spoiled a bit the quality and enjoyment of the drama imo
That's my take, I still tremendously enjoy the drama and can't wait for future episodes (Dylan is always worth my time *wink*) but I can't ignore those flaws...
I think its not really about showing any scene but particular ones, concerning women. Its a theory - an ugly one,…
Hmm, thanks for explaining...still think it's ridiculous but oh well, I can't possibly pass on a drama with Dylan so I'll bear with it till the end. Regarding Bai Jing Ting, I love his eyes...so it did also cause my heart to flutter when he was looking intensely at Tian Xi Wei 😉

New Life Begins is an anomaly then...the FL initiated the kiss in one episode and no one batted an eye (and she was an eager participant too) That's why I'm a bit peeved about UL's treatment...
But I seriously don’t get it. Why other dramas that are on air right now are showing steaming scenes and kisses???
Oh well, I can only vent my frustration at that nonsense but it's a bummer tbh...I'm mourning those cut scenes and what could have been if censorship didn't mess up with the show. I'm fairly new to c-entertainment (mostly been a k-ent fan all these years) and those restrictions kinda look ludicrous imo. Feel sorry for the actors tbh. As for Dylan Wang, he deserves every bit of his success...to think his growing popularity might be badly regarded and should be kept in check is just mind-boggling to me. Xiao Duo is a compelling character (+character originally was supposed to be really dark/cruel) and I think they already did a pretty good job in toning him down compared to the novel (thankfully)...he's not prince charming material, he tremendously suffered and wants to avenge his brother's death hence he uses every means to get what he wants. I'm not asking for graphic sexual scenes ala GOT or what could be shown in US series , I just want fluffy moments with beautiful kiss scenes (just a little more passionate than a peck) that makes a romance worth watching. That's just my opinion, I'm well aware that some people won't agree with my views on what makes a good romance and that's fine with me.

I don't understand...why are they targeting specifically this drama? Must be Dylan's fault, he's too sexy, they're probably afraid that it might corrupt young girls or that it will make them faint while watching it hahah *j/k nervously laughing*
I see the ratings dropped. Real pity. A gem, I’m my opinion. I read the reviews on this site and it is clear…
Believe me, it will unfortunately keep on dropping if they don't get their act together and I can't blame people, they keep on messing with the editing, making it choppy and disjointed...it has become incoherent...ruining the show in the process. (a pity, I got my hopes up after episodes 15/16) If it wasn't for Wang Hedi, I'm afraid I would have dropped it a long time ago...
I think people have too much expectations after LBFAD and as a consequence are disappointed... I like it so far. Dylan is magnetic as usual and I'm looking forward to their forbidden budding romance. ChenYuqi is not as bad as I thought she would be (critics made me worry tbh), she's decent and her chemistry with Dylan works fine for me. Good sign is I'm watching it without feeling bored or skipping parts... And I'm dropping a lot of dramas nowadays... Story didn't pick up yet but we're only 10 episodes in so I'm going with the flow for the moment *patience* All in all, as long as Wang Hedi is blessing my screen, I stay.
PS: only thing that is bothering me is the deletion of some scenes (mostly intimate ones) and that's annoying as fuck. What is a romance without skinships for God's sake? *crying*
