Japanese series about 4 couples (3 straight and 1 gay) who purhase a corporative house together. A scuba diving instructor lady and his husband from children's toy business who desperately try to get a baby but it does not go smoothly. A former corporate moneymaker but recently unemployed, timid man and his fearsome social climber wife with two daughters. A free-spirited, determinedly childless young woman and his more traditional would-be husband whose ex-wife has just died, hence his estranged son from his former marriage moves in with them. A closeted, middle-aged gay man who just does not want to be PDA about his relationship and his outspoken, open, out and proud young boyfriend who wants to scream their love to the world. Alternately hilarious and heartbreaking compendium with a compelling narrative and fine ensemble acting that touches several important issues and generally tackles them effectively. All the 4 story lines are very interesting and engaging.

You are entitled not to buy it and subsequently not to watch it. You are not entitled to demand free streaming as it was a given. If you have no money for ticket than you don't go to the cinema, simple as that but you do not moan at the entrance and demand entry without ticket. I am so sick of this mentality. The entire 8 episode show is 7 USD/3,50 GBP, about the price of a large cappuccino, ffs. Strongberry-Matchbox studio charges that amount for just one short film of their variety (excellent shorts btw) at their vimeo channel. And South Korea is a thriving economy with a prosperous population, unlike the Philippines. These are mostly passion projects.
Interesting concept and I appreciate it tries at least something different. Cinematography is quite amateurish and sound is very uneven. Script is a bit off but it has its moments and the dialogue is quite good too for most of the time. The actors are clearly not very experienced and they are a bit stiff but clearly have talent.

So as a direct consequence of this everything should be free for you, innit? What is next? You are not gonna pay in the supermarket either? Cannot you see how ridiculous and brash your entitlement is?
Another small piece of delight from Wayufilm, directed by Nicchi, starring Mon and Ikkyu. It never ceases to amaze me what miracles could these very talented people do on virtually zero budget.
I am quite impressed with the first episode. Singto and Tae are both apparently cast against their usual type. Singto is surprisingly clever as a narcissistic corporate high jerk and Tae displayed some unexpectedly brisk sense for comedy and slapstick. It s a fluff but so far done with style, wit and and a sense of irony and self-mocking which I always appreciate.
As expected some whiney BL oracles have already decided - after watching a less than 5 minutes teaser - that it is going to be shit. Never mind that Rocky's bed scene with Che could be anything, it could be a flashback or even a jealous Judah's imagination or Che's daydreaming or whatever. I am not saying that is the case but at least I am not judging and jumping to conclusions knee jerk before I know. It seems that is too much to expect from some. And they also moan that after two low-budget but high quality series (Quaranthings, Stuck on You) Ride or Die studio dares to charge the price of a large Starbucks cappuccino for an 8 episodes show.
I am in love with the Korean version but somehow I felt this Thai twis would turn out to be a sprightly one too, and so far it did. Energetic and vigorous with smart playing and lovely interactions.
