Just dropping in to say that I love Untamed. Its been the drama that brought me into the drama world. These rating drops or ranking positions won't ever affect that.
Its not important which ranking Untamed has at the end. I discovered Untamed cause its donghua/animation randomly showed up as if it was fate, not because of the MDL popularity lists. Whatever MDL does is not that important, fans can find our own ways to promote if needed.
I'm personally watching a jdrama that started out from nothing, a few hundred watchers. It grew not because of MDL but because fans spread the word themselves. In the end it has always been us drama fans that are the backbone and a system can't replace that. We're not just on MDL, we have every kind of social media to our disposal if needed to spread the good word. Yes it does hurt to see shows we love being rated low but we will adapt to the new circumstances as long as the love for a drama keeps us working together. The community will ALWAYS be more important than a number.
I do strongly discourage infighting between fandoms cause I know that tends to happen with these sorts of events. Its not going to change the new rating algorithm MDL adopted even if we feel injustice is being done. Everyone has their own taste in drama and if I don't like something I'll just avoid it. Whether someone is a kdrama, jdrama, cdrama, BL or lakorn fan. We're all on this site together in the end and while some dramas definitely got a heavier rating hit we all felt it. Every drama has the ability to bring something beautiful or interesting. My love for all dramas started from Untamed and I'm forever thankful to LWJ and WWX
Is someone actually going to go through 6000+ users watchlists to find the user who rated a 1 though? I don't think people need to be worried for witchhunting regarding that.
Well, not everyone loves the same thing. I've warned before that certain types of BL fans would be less likely…
Most BL fans seek certain fulfillment from BL series. For example there are those who love angst, those who love cute moments, those who love fanservice, those who love representation and many more reasons to watch BL. You can have all those reasons or just a few. If a person were to be very invested in seeing a certain trope in a BL then they become a certain type of BL watcher. I'm not attacking your individuality by me claiming that people have specific interests in series.
While every human is unique people tend to like specific types of stuff. Communities/groups of these types of people who like specific types of stuff can be classified as certain types of people. An example on this site would be people who only watch dramas from a certain country. One who only watches kdrama would be regarded as a kdrama user. Is that an offensive term because it is regressive to the multidimensional person they are in real life? Perhaps, but it is just an easy way of refering to what a person is into.
If it is wrong to refer to different types within the BL fandom then isn't the term BL fan in itself also wrong? Because why identify a person with such a limiting term? Obviously we all have lives outside of BL. Anyway yeah my words are not directed to encage you into any type of BL user. Otherwise I would've likely elaborated on that besides just vaguely stating''types of BL watchers''. Not to mention that we clearly don't know each other so I wouldn't see the point of doing that.
You are free to drop whatever you want in life because we are all free unique human beings. You don't have to validate your decision to me as I was just giving advice. I'm sorry if you misread it as an enforcement of your watching behaviour.
9000+ comments here we go! In other important news, we will be hitting 3 million views on the Cherry Magic official episode 1 from TvTokyo in a few hours/within 1 hour. If you wanna help increase views till we hit 3 mil: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Z3jU2P8eQw
Injustice of the system that wants lower ratings overall. Almost every drama (besides the unpopular/new ones) got lowered an entire point to make drama ratings seem more ''fair'' I suppose.
Unfortunately, the series has lost its appeal for me :( I guess it's not for me anymore. A pity because I really…
Well, not everyone loves the same thing. I've warned before that certain types of BL fans would be less likely to enjoy the last episodes. Also its literally only 2 more episodes, are you really going to drop at the final episode? I wouldn't be able to do that, especially considering that this is a typical jdrama where everything gets resolved in last episode.
Oh you're in for a treat. Cause at first episode there's still no big emotional investment. That changes very…
I mean it is currently in the anime section of Crunchyroll so you're probably not the only one that thought so XD I think they'll fix it sometime in the future though, as its supposed to be in the drama section.
Just for new watchers here. Check the profile of users first before you follow a link. If the profile has been created today with little information then don't risk following the link.
I have never seen a fandom where fans are so desperate to give away their money lol
The drama makers would be rich if they figured out how to properly monotize their content internationally. They are making good steps forward with getting the drama out into the world now though! But the merch isn't a lot... two cups, a clip and a filecover.
International fans will literally buy anything affordable from the drama at this point. Clothes, pens, phone stands, all remarkable used items in scenes are noted and searched. The initial content scarcity likely attributed to this current behaviour in the fandom.
