A chef competition with broken stove. r u kidding me😭😭
Is that why you jumped from the window? Lets see what happen next week, and next week, and week, as the series moves on from episode to episode to the last scene of scheduled run.
chae min is good so far but I wish Park Sung Hoon didn’t drop the role,, he fits it so perfectly
I didn't know that, but that feels a very strange replacement. So, they were going to cast a 40 years old actor, but when he turned it down, they replaced him with a 24 years old?!
As someone who hasn't watched mr queen.... I'm enjoying this one quite a lot so far ep 1 was engaging and not…
Personally I thought Mr Queen E01 was better on every single level.
But, this is not to belittle this series. I thought it was good and enjoyable first episode. I am certainly looking forward to E02, and I think this will be a really fun series.
I decided to ignore the low scores and watch. I watched until the middle of 2nd episode and stopped. The core story is really good, and I would have loved a proper exploration of that. My big problem is the tone shifts. I wish the series was just drama without any "comedy". I find the "comedy" mostly silly, not funny, and just a hindrance to the subject matter.
So, my question: does the series get more serious, or is that "comedy" will be ongoing?
How did Se jin go from not driving to driving sport car so smoothly in such short time? I really like the series, but it has so many annoying small things like these. Attention for details is poor.
I don't actually have a problem with Ho-su losing his hearing, but I wish the drama was more consistent with his…
The series is really good, and I like it a lot. But, the writer isn't the greatest plotter. s/he writes very good scenes. Themes, and individual pieces are good, but the connection between them, or logic is often lacking.
I still marvel at the fact that Jinyoung and Boyoung can have such great chemistry as Miji and Hosu, but not as…
"I still marvel at the fact that Jinyoung and Boyoung can have such great chemistry as Miji and Hosu, but not as Mirae and Hosu. The same goes for Miji x Sejin x Mirae. Miji and Sejin have such bff vibes together "
It is a proof that Park Bo Young is a very good actress. Also, it shows that chemistry is more than putting two beautiful people together.
How did Se Jin know her name was Mi Rae and not Mi Ji?
The simple truth this is just one of the many inconsistencies about the switching.
This series is like beautiful painting, but the switching thing is like blot in the middle of it. So annoying. They needed a better plot (even introducing Fantasy if needed), and it would have been awsome.
Now I have caught up. This is such a good series. I am enjoying it very much. BUT, and it is a BIG BUT. I just feel the switching part is too unbelievable for this type of series. If this was pure comedy, I wouldn't bat an eye. However, the series is more reflective and heartfelt. Certainly serious, but the tone is not heavy. Therefore, I have to to hold it to higher standards.
I simply can't believe what they have done is possible.
-Someone who doesn't know anything about finance, never worked in an office can't just slide in and in a senior position at that. This is not about intelligence. No matter how smart a person is, they need training. -And don't even get me started about the mother not recognising them.
There are also many inconsistencies (hair for one), but you get my point.
Pity, because other than that issue, I am loving it.
Hi. Please no spoilers. As this is an American produced series. Does it have an end, or is it a cliffhanger/extremely wide open ? In other words. Can you finish it and feel you have watched a complete series? The main story has a conclusion.
I know, there isn’t any romance, but do the female lead and the male lead have a good chemistry? I mean, do…
Hmm. I hesitate to call him a male lead. The leads are really the two actresses. But, to answer your question. There is no romance whatsoever. They are just colleagues at work. I would say it is more just being good colleagues and helping each other rather than friendship. The two female leads relationship is much more interesting though. The series doesn't spend a lot on personal lives. There is a bit of it, but it is more to help the main story. It is really about teachers and the challanges they face.
First of all, I do apologise for the tone of my previous reply.
Yes, he is not perfect by any means. That is true. However, I don't think I missed those things you pointed out, but I have different interpretations and reading of them. I most certainly disagree that He had mummy issues. Allowing himself to be abused for the sake of his family, because he needed to provide for them. So, his behaviour here is presented as a sacrfice rather than shortcomings. Yes, he doesn't express himself a lot, but, again, I don't believe it was presented in a negative way. It was more like him being stoic. Btw, especially in Asian cultures and that time, men are not expected to show emotions.
All Gwan Sik has done in the series is working himself to a literal death to provide for his family, and he has never opposed his wife (voluntarily). Couldn't they make him at least smoke or something? men and women can be supportive and wonderful to their spouse, but through such long life, they also argue, fight, and have some fall out once in a while. The only time he argued with her is to show her she must be with him.
Kdrama is full of these wonderful and fantastic male lead characters (when the reality it is still a patriachal society, and women have still long way to go. Please read " Kim Ji-young, Born 1982" or "The Vegetarian"). All I read is "Green Flag" and "Green Forest". There is nothing easier than writing one dimensional characters. These characters are bordering on cartoonish. I accept these male lead in rom-com (check my list), and I enjoy these series, and have fun, because they provide me with escapism and give me warm feelings. BUT, when I have a realistic series, I want my characters to be real. Btw..I liked the series a lot, because it has many other great qualities. Gave it a really high score (by my standards) of 8.5, but I don't consider it exceptional. I find many other slice of life better than it.
Really? Have you known someone who supports another person 100% during their entire life? They never argue with them. They never upset them. They don't have any clear faults. Yes, there are many people who are wonderfull and share Gwan Sik attributes. But I am over 50 years old, and I am yet to see a person without at least some faults. Gwan Sik seems to have none.
Am I the only one who thinks that Gwan Sik is badly written character? This is a realistic drama, so characters should be real people, not fantasy ones.
I understand. There does seem to be a close attachment with fans to their cp celebrities and the drama they star…
I live in UK, so there are lots of similarties with US. I don't really know the ins and outs of East Asian entertainment industry, and ultimately I am an outsider, but from what I have seen, I really dislike it. Even in Hollywood, I stopped watching actors interviews sometime ago. It is very rare that they have something valuable to say. Apart from anecdotes during shooting. I am far more interested in writers and directors (the REAL force behind the work success or failure) I wish all actors were like Meryl Streep. Fantastic actress, but you hardly know anything about her.
Lets see what happen next week, and next week, and week, as the series moves on from episode to episode to the last scene of scheduled run.
Mr Queen being a man is very key and major difference.
There are similarties, but the gender swap in Mr Queen is an absolutely key to everything.
