i also Binged it in 2 days... respecting your openion on not making it into American shows... but don't you wanna…
I genuinely don't :) I actually found his line of the story the least interesting, and was generally uninterested. I believe the show could have even better without, and maybe lose 1 or two episodes. But, even if you are fully invested in his backstory. Honestly, how many episodes do you need? Personally, I don't think you need more than one. You can stretch to 2. And if you throw some more stuff maybe 3. You certainly don't need a whole season. At least that is my opinion.
Others might have said this already, but the board has way too many message. This drama is poorly paced, and have no direction. Why on earth cramming so much?? If you know you have 12 episodes and you want to tell intricate story, the pacing should have been completely different. I haven't read the webtoon, but I wish they have just stuck with the love story (despite the zero chemistry between the leads) and exploring grief and the right and wrongs of reconnecting with people from your previous life (her sister and mother) This whole mystery line is SOOOO distracting and needless. Also, we suddenly have so many characters remembering their past lives. It is such a massive devaluation of the first few episodes.
With all due respect. Why do you need another season? The story has nicely wrapped up for all characters. Do you need an entire season just to see them getting rid of that serial killer?. I would say you don't need more than half, maybe one episode to do that.
I think the writer mixed up between the inventor of alcohol (Chinese) and coffee (Arabs).
I don't think you can say anybody "invented" alcohol. Alcohol is one of those things that humans just figured out WAY back (probably tens of thousands years ago), but they gradually improved techniques and variety. Same goes for Coffe. Nobody invented it.
this cliffhanger is too good.... sister's relationship definetely more interesting than the romance for me
Agree, and BY FAR. Tbh..those are the scenes I am waiting for. I have now just accepted that ML &FL have no chemistry, and moved on. On the whole, the show is flat line with very high spikes from time to time. It is still decent nd watchable, but nothing more.
Finished few hours ago. Great series ( not an all time favourite though). Very addictive. I binged it in 3 days. The thing that will stay with me most is the acting. I was happy with how things wrapped up. Personally thought P1 was little bit better. I sincerly hope they don't do another season. Probably one of the main reasons why people are moving away from American TV shows to Korean is that they actually END! I don't understand this obsession with wanting more and more seasons. Do you want K-drama to be like American one?? You start a show and you have no idea whether it will finish after 1 year or 10. Why don't we just appreciate that a show was great but the story ended.
Squid game is so overrated. Alice in the Borderland much much better for me. In my opinion there shouldn't be…
I agree there shouldn't be a second season. But, personally I think their similarties are superficial. I think they are both great series, but for me Squid Game is better even though AIB is more exciting. SG for me is above all criticism of society and Capitalism in particular. The best two episodes IMO are 2 (for the matic message) and 6 (sheer brilliance. One of the best TV episodes). However, neither has lots of violence or action. The games in SG are "the icing on the cake"., but not the cake itself.
AIB on the other hand is much more exciting and actioney. The games themselves are the highlight and fun.
So, I would say they are almost different genres, or at least at different ends of the spectrum.
I am at ep 3 and didn't know this actress before.... but the drama is really hard to watch. The story is a bit…
Hard to tell. People look at things differently. I am in the middle. I find it decent with some high points, but not great. There is enough to keep me watching. I am fan of the main actress though. Btw, you should check her series "Mr. Queen". She is AMAZING in that role. It is not spoiler, she plays a man in a womens body. The best acting I have seen in similar roles in any language.
I have only been paying little attention to the whole age thing, but I can't help noticing there is SO much talk about it. I don't know how all the reincarenation suppose to work, but to me she is a different person in each new life. What is special about her is the ability to remember those lives. So, it is kind of grey area. Is she the one from her 18th or 19th life? Rather than getting hung up about age, I find the question of who we are more interesting? Are we the body we inhabit? Are we the sum of our memories? those debates would be more fun imo.
She says "We share the same parents and are legally in the same family registry"Well it was funnyBut at the same…
He was. The scene was mainly played for laugh, albeit with sad undertone. However, if this was a serious scene, that brother should be arrested, Also I don't believe that so many people would have been just watching and no one intervene. But, the whole thing was done mainly for comedy, and a chance for ML to be the one "saving" her.
I don't speak Korean, so I don't know what she exactly said, but the subtitles were something like "We share the same last name in the registry books". I thought that was very funny way to say my brother lol.
Just curious - does this get better as the eps go on? I'm done with ep 1 and am not very keen to continue with…
I think I see some similarties between us after ep1. So, how do I feel after 4 episodes? The series gets better, but I doubt it will go down as great for me. I still don't feel chemistry between ML&FL, and I feel this is the fault of casting director, not the actors. However, the show will have some amazing, and very emotional individual scenes. Also, Yoon Kyung start to come more into the picture, which will improve things. So, in a nutshell, if you lower your expecations, it is a decent show with some good themes, amazing odd scenes, and of course SHS. The romance remains the weakest part of it though.
let me first say that I think Shin Hye Sun is a much better actress than Seo Yea Ji, but Ban Ji Eum is nowhere as good in stalking her man as Ko Moon-Young lool.

I understood from the scene that it was meant to be funny. I was trying to say that it worked :).
