i feel it is because they are trying to appeal to international/us audience.
That's true. Another movie with international appeal that comes to mind is Train to Busan, a massive success.
There are many awesome K movies before 2010 as well: My Sassy Girl, 200 Pounds Beauty, Tae Guk Gi: The Brotherhood of War, Memories of Murder, Old Boy, Once Upon a Time in High school, A Moment to Remember, A Dirty Carnival and many more.
Korean cinema is at its best when they do it their own way and show the world their own culture. True fans of cinema appreciate authenticity and that's why K movies/dramas are loved all across the globe.

I agree with you. A lot of people miss out on quality cinema, because they complain about having to read subtitles. They are too lazy to read.
Nowadays, the audience especially in the West are woke af, so if you make a movie with zero plot, less dialogues, senseless violence and non-stop action, then they'll watch it.
I have friends who refuse to watch Asian movies, because they are too lazy to read subtitles. It's too much effort apparently lol!
I have watched 400+ Korean movies, but in recent years, I can't help but think that Korean cinema has lost its magic. I'm all for experimentation, but why are they copying crap Hollywood movies? What happened to movies like The Man From Nowhere and I Saw the Devil?
This was too over the top and unrealistic and went on forever! I don't know what's more stupid; the helicopter scene or that bimbo American reporter trying to calm down the North and South Korean agents when they were pointing guns at each other lol!
Aigoo! It's Kim Ah Joong! My wife, my queen, my goddess and pretty much my everything! I'm going to watch this and remarry her in the next life as well!
-Friendly and jolly boss lady that provides free meat dish -5 star service -Friendly residents -Spacious rooms -Modern kitchen facility -Free Wi-Fi -No en suite, but clean bathrooms
Eden Gosiwon deserves more branches and should also be listed on Airbnb.
these people are the same people that believe south korea is heaven and north korea is hell, because americans…
You're welcome. It's crazy to think that the US can cut people off from finding the truth on the internet, but hardly surprising. Youtube banned Iran's main TV channel "Press TV" as well as Myanmar governments main channel to prevent people from learning about the ground reality regarding US government funded terrorism in Myanmar.
I've heard from a number of American citizens that the US government does this to prevent its citizens from seeing how advanced China has become - 5G, bullet trains and world class infrastructure in comparison to the US which has been left behind.
I highly recommend CGTN and New China TV on YouTube; they are China's main broadcast channels, but in English language providing daily news & documentaries from China; stuff that we'll never hear about in the West.
A really good Chinese government website, but not sure if it's banned in your country:
Regarding North Korea, I've heard some good things about it and saw some videos from vloggers; though Western media only mentions sanctions and missile tests lol!
Yes Alexander Mercouris is brilliant for real news on Russia, China, NATO and the US. He totally destroys Blinken and Kamala. There are plenty of Americans and Brits in the comment section. A knowledgeable audience.
My most favourite YouTube channel though is "The New Atlas", the host Brian Berletic was actually a US marine. He has been living in Thailand for the past 17 years and dedicates his time towards exposing colour revolutions/regime change throughout Southeast Asia which are done by the US State Department. He also provides tons of evidence of how the US is destabilising China and Asia to stop its growth. He has been banned on Facebook and twitter for providing real news.
Honestly, the UK has become insignificant and blindly follows the US like a lapdog. The UK is a laughing stock especially post Brexit. My girlfriend is from Thailand and I would much rather be living there away from all this madness.
It's been a great pleasure talking to you and I hope you have a wonderful year : )

I agree that it's all bluff, they can only bomb smaller and weaker countries like the ones you mentioned. They wouldn't dare take on giants like China and Russia; hence colour revolutions in Kazakhstan, Southeast Asia or any country along the peripheries of China and Russia.

You are spot on about Japan, they are a lost cause and they will never apologise to China and other Asian countries for their war crimes. They will remain America's no.1 lapdog.
Oh man, I'm loving this friendship between China and Russia; it's really tilted the balance. Xi Jinping refers to Putin as a "dear friend" and they are making it difficult for the US to continue its destruction of the Middle East. With 139 countries signed up to China's Belt & Road Initiative as well as the arrival of the RCEP, more and more countries are moving away from the US dollar.
Did you hear about the war simulation games carried out by the US on a potential war with China over Taiwan? All 27 outcomes showed a Chinese victory.
Just curious, do you listen to Alexander Mercouris on YouTube? He's a British geopolitical analyst and talks in detail about the conflicts regarding Ukraine, Taiwan, NATO, Russia, China etc. His analysis is usually spot on and talks about things we'll never hear on mainstream media.
In other words, you've hardly watched anything.
That explains why you are blindly giving 10/10 ratings to pretty much anything and everything.
