I would watch for OST alone, but paired with Yang Yang, it’s not to be missed!

I did the same thing; binged it all in a day, lol. There are some little chapters after the ending that I skipped; I might go back sometime.

It may be comforting to know that in the novel the author makes it plain the males do not “show” their pregnancy because of some inner pocket or something that grows all on the inside, lol. So it doesn’t get comical to see a pregnant male, thankfully. Be nice if they could work that out for women.😂

I read it, too, because the pace of the series was making me crazy. I loved it.

Whoever thought of releasing one episode a week should think again! 😫

There are constant interactions with several female characters, but romance is not the primary motivator in this drama. I would list humor first.

I had to buy the express because the suspense was killing me. This little series was a ridiculous and unexpectedly great pleasure. Seeing the ML use modern business practices in the ancient world was cute and different. I even loved how he would have success after success only to be knocked down by the conniving nobles. Then he would build back again, a very positive message in the midst of chaos. The ML goes on my ever growing list of favorites; his character was adorable and well played. I loved all of it!

Just had to run here and say that was the most enchanting first episode I’ve ever watched. I love the MLs in this drama, but I’m not sure they’re going to be able to measure up to the children.😍 I have already adopted (in my mind) the little girl as my granddaughter; just letting you know!💕

Wow, this is…I am completely hooked. Something different for a change! And it’s not because it’s bl, it’s because it is well made (I think). Love the mystery and the actors and the slow burn. Hate that the virus or whatever it was knocked off all the AB blood types, because I would be gone! 😭🤣

I agree. This actor is amazing; I don’t think I’ve seen him play the same character twice. Every role becomes separate and real from him as a person. I have many favorite Chinese actors that I love to see onscreen, but tbh, most seem to portray the same person (is it themselves? lol) in every drama. So this is a special talent and achievement on the part of ZXC.

Right? They are both adorable and both problematic, having each deceived and lied to the other repeatedly. Of course, they had their reasons, but. Whatever the drama does with them, I don’t hold out a lot of hope for this kind of relationship irl 🫩

Agree with everything you said. I actually don’t want to watch new episodes because then I will have watched them and can’t see them for the first time again. This drama is making me crazy!

Thanks sm for this information! I looked it up, and it surely is another version of the same story. The novel all are based on must have been (or still is) very popular, although why drama makers would choose to film different versions at the same time surprises me, especially since neither one is getting much promotion. You said you were unsure which version or season to watch. I am going to recant my above statement that I was simultaneously watching both seasons “having no trouble “. Lol, I am having trouble now as more and more characters are added to both as episodes advance. There are many female characters especially (not necessarily love interests, but sometimes), and at least a couple of them look like twins or at least sisters. I’m constantly asking, Now who is she again? Is she in both seasons? What season is this again? Is this before or after the break with his dad? I wish I had started with Season 1 like a normal person, if that helps.🥹

I am watching them both at the same time and having no trouble. Did not know about the series and fell in love with Season 2 which is not going fast enough for me, so I decided to try the first season, too. It looks as though no one is watching it. I initially thought it wasn’t for me, either, but the acting chops of the ML grabbed me, and the plot and characterizations kept me intrigued. I hope people will give it a chance. I guess there’s nothing new about the claw-yourself-up-from-the-bottom type plot, but it’s all in how it’s dealt with. Full disclosure: I fall for this type of story nearly every time, so there is that.

After watching the first three episodes, I came here anticipating positive comments from at least half of watchers, but no! 😭 Unlike almost everybody else, I fell completely in love with its comfort level, a little suspense but not too much, so far no super violent scenes, the charm of three of the main leads (finding I like them all more in this than before), and loving the dance in the rain and FL’s positive and warm vibe. There might not be anything new, but it all seems pleasant to me. So I’m posting in case anyone else is trying to decide whether to watch or not. If you’re kind of sappy and a bit sentimental like me, you might give it a shot. I can’t predict if I will finish at this point (I am completing fewer and fewer these days), but I did buy the express package, so.
