I think you're exaggerating. There were context when he used those words and if you can't tell the difference, there's no point in trying to explain it. It's also a cultural thing, it might sound harsh to Westerners. You make it sound like he has been verbally abusing her everyday for no reason.

If these are your examples of deceit, then the ML in every other drama is a red flag. In all the rom-coms I have watched, the ML always manipulates situations so he can spend time with the FL, but never in a sinister way. If your examples hold true, then Sang Yan is a massive red flag because he made up so many excuses and opportunities to get closer to the FL. He would also be considered a stalker since he checked up on her often and tried to protect her secretly

He has amnesia and thought he was 18 years old, not eight. Was he this childish at 18 because I don't think amnesia can change someone's personality. 18 is an adult already. His character acts more like a 12 years old.

You take that all away and no one will watch the drama even if he is a whole green forest. It's entertaining. No need to take it so seriously. This was the plot of the story. He was not meant to be a good boyfriend.

Yes, in the novel I remember she was devastated and couldn't get out of bed for a week, but then the focus was all on Sun Yu in the drama. I was confused when I watched ep20...were their relationship closer than with ZT? ZT was sad but not to the degree of SY.

I love this drama, but the timeline sucks. I never know how much time has passed or where the characters are living. One minute they are in the Northwest, and the next, in Beijing. How did Luke drive all the way to the Northwest, or was that somewhere else? I am so lost...

They should treated us like dummies, and write the month, year and place in the beginning of some scenes.

I think the purpose is to have Taotao experienced grief and heartbreak piling up, and the failed promotion was the final straw and that is when she decided she is in an unhealthy relationship and needed to change.
